Ok so scientifically I should get higher eating them I know I've read that years ago, I was just saying that after you've been snorting oxy's for a long time(I did for 2 years everyday) every couple hours, wake up one morning and say I'll eat all my oxy today....that day will feel like your in withdrawal all day. Maybe because you eat a single dose maybe 2 or 3 and say that's it for the day, I couldn't do that if I went 4-6 hours without my dose I would go through the acute withdrawal, meaning I would start sweating and generally feel like shit. It was just a waste to me to eat it, I literally wouldn't feel shit. I was pretty deep into addiction and eating oxy's wouldn't cut it I don't know what else to say but I'm not just making this up I know others that have had the same experience. This is coming from people that snort oxy's a lot for years, I don't know how many people like that you know but try and convince them that they will get higher by eating oxy's and they will disagree.
I almost exclusively snorted oxycodone from 2005-2009, and now I almost always take them orally. Even during that time period I would obviously take percocets orally since you can't really sniff them, and I would get plenty high by doing this.
My tolerance was 2 80's (160mg) a day intranasally, and I found them to be just as effective orally, and they lasted longer as well. Snorting oxycodone never hit me that fast, so it wasn't like I had to wait much longer for them to hit me when I switched to taking them orally. The switch started by sniffing half and eating the other half to save my nose the trouble, and I noticed I was getting higher that way, and for longer. Then there were a few times when I couldn't be bothered to sniff them like if I was doing a shady deal and just wanted to take them quick instead of going into the bathroom or parking somewhere random and being even more shady. After that I never found it worth it to take the extra time to sniff them, and the only time that I do it now is if I'm with a person that is sharing and they already crushed it and broke it into lines.
Even though the 30s aren't that big, once your tolerance gets to where you need to sniff 5 or 6 of them, I really don't think it's worth it to sniff them. Think about it. In order to efficiently sniff them, you need to break each pill into 3 or 4 lines, and slowly do each one while waiting a few minutes in between each line for the drug to absorb and make room for more. Otherwise you nasal cavity gets too clogged, and the active ingidients won't be absorbed as well. The time it takes to sniff 5 or 6 pills properly actually makes them hit you slower than just eating them all at once. It's like a 30 minute experience for me to sniff all those pills properly, so why bother when I can get just as high or higher and for longer by taking them orally.
The only time I would sniff them in the future is if my tolerance is down, I don't have a physical depenence (because taking them orally keeps withdrawals away longer), and I have a dose of like 60mg which the slightly higher peak from sniffing might make it worth it. With lower doses like that the lower nasal BA makes it so that you aren't getting that much less.
Lets say you are getting 17% less BA from the nasal ROA (let's say it's %70) compared to oral (we'll use %87). If you sniff 60mg then you are getting 42mg, and if you eat it you are getting 52mg. OK, so a difference of 10mg isn't much, and the faster peak from sniffing it may be worth it for some. Now lets use a dose of 200mg. Nasally you get 140mg, and orally you get 174mg. I gotta say I would take the extra 34mg every time instead of putting almost 7 pills up my nose.
So those are both personal and scientific reasons for me taking oxycodone orally. I can definitely see it being worth it to take nasally if you have a low tolerance and aren't dependent, but once the dosage gets up there, I can't justify taking oxycodone nasally, both for personal and scientific reasons, and this is coming from somebody that used to always sniff his oxycodone.
