So my friend and i both dosed 90mg of Adderall IR. A few hours later we decided to redose another 75. The next day my friend takes another 120mg and then lays off of it. He hadn't experienced a crash and still sort of felt the drug's effects so i'm assuming it was still in his system. Fast forward a couple of days my friend is feeling heightened anxiety (he already had GAD), some depression, and even moderate claustrophobia (his aunt has it). He's never felt the claustrophobia before. These comedown symptoms have been going on for around 4 days now. They've improved slightly but it's hard to notice. My friend is worried it'll last forever but i tried to reassure him telling him it'll probably blow over within a few days. This was all done on virtually no tolerance. My question is have any of you ever experienced anything like this? If so what did you feel and for how long? Mentioning dose and tolerance will help. Thanks

PS. As for me I had some anxiety for 2 days (no abnormal anxiety before this) after dosing and it went away.

300 mg of Adderall is a gargantuan dose even if you have a very, very high tolerance. To put things in perspective, 30 or even 20 mg is a solid dose for a non-tolerant user.

The effects of the crash following this kind of use are unpredictable. They will most certainly include anxiety, depression, irritability and irrational thinking. I would honestly expect a psychosis to set in as well.

I recommend the use of something to serve as a cushion for the inevitable impact. Try to get your hands on an opiate, like hydrocodone or oxycodone. If you have no tolerance to opiates, this will be a godsend. Many people suggest a benzodiazepine for an amphetamine crash. I was an Adderall addict for a good bit of time, and I never used a benzo, because I never had access to them. But I did use gabapentin, and occasionally an opiate.

An opiate will reverse most of the comedown effects, but the psychosis is another issue. I was never able to really combat it successfully. If you have no tolerance to gabapentin, then 600-900 mg in staggered doses might do the trick. I would expect real paranoia (not the kind that weed can produce, which is more like anxiety.) Your friend will most likely be convinced that he is being followed, and he may hear whispering from walls and from other inanimate objects. Try going outdoors, but definitely not in a place populated by people. Some trees and sunshine will help a lot.

Most of the effects that are stereotypical of "meth-headness," are actually induced by lack of sleep. Being up for 24 hrs is enough to cause a great deal of unwanted "noise." 8 or even 4 hrs of sleep will chase away the psychosis. Drink something acidic like a decaffeinated soda or citrus juice. This will speed up the elimination of the drug from your body.

Someone else on here can probably help you more. Sorry If I sound dramatic, but 300 mg is an insane dose!

Always try to have 10mgs of Valium after dosing any kind of stimulants for the cone down.......

The dosages you both took were a lot, especially your friend, wowsers!

That does seem like a really high dose for having no tolerance but I would not expect psychosis? I occasionally (once or twice a year) and will go through 300mg by myself easily in two days and that's rationing it out! I always have some benzos for the initial crash and sometimes use them sparingly for a few days after to take the edge off (sometimes I get a little irritable for a few days and klonopin or Xanax can help me avoid confrontations). However, everyone is different, has different natural tolerances, and will react differently to coming down. I started with a high natural tolerance to stimulants and started off with stupid amounts of various stims about 15 years ago (very unfortunate as they are my favorite class) and can blow through 30 or 40 or more 30mg addys in a week and still eat and sleep (with a little help). The few days fallowing the last dose aren't fun but it's easily combated with good sleep (maybe with a little help), healthy food, suppliments if you're into that (still not sure if I buy into them but try them on occasion), very low impact exercise and lots of water. Remember, a lot of what you are feeling is real, your brain is just a series of chemical reactions and you just have them a major overhaul in a short amount of time, but you will live through it and feel better in a few days to a week maybe...

300mg in two days? That's HUGE man. Your friend could have had a heart attack while he was locked up in his room jerking off.

that's a huge amount! I've never taken that much but back in the day I took 30mgs of adderall not knowing how strong it was (I was 14 and knew nothing) . I stayed up for three days and started going into mild psychosis. I got prescribed vyvanse two years ago and dosed normally. after three days I had to go to the er for a severe panic attack. I was throwing stuff, screaming and attacking people for no reason. on top of that I wanted to kill myself. it totally screwed me up. I had to take benzos until my come down stopped. that's why I can't take anything despite the fact I have add

300 mg is quite a large amount.....for a seasoned user, for someone with "virtually no tolerance" it would a excessively large amount.

However, I doubt this was either of your first experiences as its hard to believe someone would do that their first time (they wouldn't need that dose)

Now....in terms of how long the comedown will last, I would have said that in 4-5 days most effects will be gone and by a week/week and a half you should probably be good.
However depending on your experience with the drug, your experience may vary, naivety could work for or against you. However considering you say you've experienced them for 4 days already with minimal improvement, id say you may be waiting a while, the most concerning aspect is that your friend is experiencing claustrophobia(possible sign of some neurological damage).
If you guys don't feel better in a couple days, id seriously consider seeing a doctor, better safe than sorry.

As other people have said, opiates or benzos may help you feel better, but personally when I've been in similar situations I've always thought it best to avoid trying to temporally fix the comedown symptoms by adding extra drugs to the mix. However I can't stress enough the importance of ensuring you eat well/stay hydrated and try to get proper rest, these are easy things you can do to minimize detrimental effects.

Best of luck to both of you

The benzos and/or gabapentin will most likely eliminate any psychotic symptoms.

I remember one of the last times that I binged on Adderall. As soon as those little whispers started creeping in, I started dosing gabapentin. And they went away.
