Ok so I reported on 3 pills recently... I consumed one, and friends consumed the others. We all stayed up for a long ass time, I know someone who stayed up for like two days. But I got my testing kit and tested em all and they all turned out the same as just being MDMA. Why would we all be up forever, the robadope screens for amphetamines but does it screen for cafeine? Thats the only thing I can think of, or energy drinks we had but we really didnt have that many.

I'm just confused.......

Heres the reports:

Caffeine does not show up in any reagent testing. :( MDMA in itself has stimulant qualities, so if you are sensitive to stimulants I can see where you'd be up for a while, but two days is a bit much, IMO. Maybe it's time to lay off on the energy drinks. :)

Keep in mind that the instructions for your testing kit most likely specified that the kits are not intended to / capable of identifying the contents of mixed pills.

I.E. if a pill contains both MDMA and Methamphetamine you may not be able to see the methamphetamine reactions as they may be masked by the MDMA reactions. This is especially true if you are a newby tester and don't know what a pure MDMA reaction looks like as opposed to a pure meth reaction or a mixture of the two.

I found that a smaller quantity of scrapings makes for easier differentation of different colors in the marquis reaction. If you have more scrapings the entire puddle of reagent changes to purple / black rather than being able to swirl things around and possibly pick out traces of orange.

If you couldn't sleep and had no appetite for a day or two I would strongly suspect meth, especially considering other people's reports on those same presses. I would suggest retesting with a smaller quantity of scraping and possibly better lighting.

Amalic acid test (test for xanthines)
Method

Add to the sample a few drops of 10 M hydrochloric acid followed by a few crystals of potassium chlorate, and evaporate the mixture to dryness. Observe the colour of the residue then add two or three drops of 2 M ammonium hydroxide and again observe the colour.

A red, pink, orange or yellow residue, which changes to pink, red or violet after the addition of ammonium hydroxide indicates the presence of a xanthine

Any caffeine present in residue (after evaporation) will result in a red -orange that will turn purple after addition of NH4OH.

Potassium Chlorate is probably the most difficult chemical to acquire, although it is used in pyrotechnics, matches and as an oxidising agent. This last used is why the chemical can be dangerous, so if this test is to be employed, adhere to safety info regarding use, transport and storage. Potassium Chlorate MSDS, Wiki

There are several other tests for caffeine but the ones I've seen are either difficult to carry out and/or use toxic or dangerous chemicals.
