for anyone who read my story about a month ago, I thought I would update.

I was on tramadol and codeine for 3 years, and I recently found out I'm pregnant with my third child :) .. I decided this was the time I needed to make the decision to say goodbye to codeine !

I put myself onto to a taper plan, going from 10 dihydracodeine a day, and drop a dosage.
I got Brave and dropped to 6 instead of 10!
I then dropped one every 2 weeks, untill Sunday I decided that as I was Only on 1 a day, I'm braving it out and jumping! Well... Here I am on day 3 and doing well with no codeine at all :) .. Sure I'm tired, but nothing I can't handle! .. I am also on antidepressants and I don't think I could have done it without them!
I feel so proud of myself, :) xxx

Hey there, I really do not understand the drugs your explaining but... I can never ever suggest to somebody to taper quickly (unless with medical assistance). Sounds like you have conquered/achieved a few of your own goals which is fantastic.

I suspect this post may be moved to a section where it could help a lot of people - whats next for you?

You can take that route with codeine if your confident in yourself. yeh its a bitch of a drug when you been on it a while. Best of luck bye

Thankyou missbehavin!!!

today is day 6 and still going strong! .. I hardly think about the codeine/tramadol anymore, and I have found that I count my blessings everyday that I was able to find the strength to do it.
I am still in shock at myself and the courage I've shown, I had very little faith in myself and is proved myself wrong :') .. I feel and look so much better.
Tapering down was the best route for me, and I couldn't have done it without the support of the antidepressants.
I started the antidepressants in August, to prepare myself for this.. in hopes it would work, and it really has.
I do still get tired and lethargic at times, especially after I've eaten, but it's nothing that I can't handle.
How is everybody else getting on?

ps.. If someone wants to move this thread to another place on here I dog mind.. I would love to help ppl who need support in quitting xxxx I would like to stay here and help others xx

Thank you so much :)
the downside I've found is that my immune system is slightly down.
I think that's to do with being pregnant also.. But I've had 2 lots of colds in 3 weeks! ... Not nice but have to get on with it xxx
