Feeling bad, but only moderate symptoms (COWS). Tapered for almost 40 days; from methadone to morphine, then to vicodin, Seems to be working well. This is the softest detox I've ever done - and it must be the last.
I've been on every form, IV H when I couldn't afford Drs ( no insurance ), was cheaper pain management then buying street pills.
That was 20 years ago.

Now, I am 60. I was so frightened that my age would make it worse.
I'm using Valium, Klonipin, Immodium, Cold syrup and Kratom.

The nights have been the worst; the thrashing and RLS.
During the day, I'm using Opera: La Traviata, La Boheme Tosca and The Ring. They are fantastically engrossing. YouTube has them with subtitles.
Someone wrote that crying a lot during detox helps to rearrange the brains endorphine receptors back to normal and these are the real tear jerkers.

I'll try to keep on posting.

Diana

Hello Dianna and WELCOME. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I am 54, though I've struggled with chronic pain for decades. My GI issues kept me from taking pain meds for any length of time. I enrolled in PM in 2014, but have no success with true "management of pain".

Sending good vibes your way. I'm here if you need to talk. :)

Good luck to you.

I moved this from homeless to sober living. If you want it moved to other drugs just post that you want it moved, or myself and the other moderators here in sober living think it should be in another forum it will get moved.

You can do this Diana. I would always find myself welling up when in withdrawal. All your emotions come flooding back.

Take each day as it comes and be proud of how far you've come.

Diana, you are doing great! If you can taper for 40 days you've got this! I could never taper, if I have it I take it. I cry like a 5 year old when in withdrawal. Going through it now. I can't take off work so I'm constantly booking it to my office before I start balling in front of people. The strangest things make me emotional. Mini vans. Go figure.
