2Cs and insnufflation pain. The chemistry?

Sorry if this question is a bit dumb, I'm drunk lol but what exactly about 2Cs make them so painful to snort. It's a property that seems to be shared throughout the 2C family as well as its amphetamine homologues DOx.

What about having 2 MeO groups and an amino ethyl group result in such pain to the nose. Is it to do with acidity
 
It's most likely acidity, in combination with the fact the powder granules aren't spheres, rather sharp tiny crystals.

How come 4-FA burns just as bad the the 2c series, yet 2-FMA is probably the least painful chemical i've ever railed?.
 
Impurties. And also secondary amine salts like Meth are going to be quite acidic, just not as much as primary amines like the 2C-s
 
That and if you really think of just the basic ingridents to meth they are all not things you would want to put in your nose by themselves most you could out of acid or Just pure pain.

But I've heard even perfectly synthed 100% pure meth still burns like a bitch. Can't speak from experience because I've never tried real meth.
 
I can confirm that pure 2C-B.HCl burns like a hot poker. The HBr-salt should be slightly better (but then you need slightly more of it). I've heard rumours that the acetate should be considerably easier on the nose, which would confirm the acidity hypothesis, but I have never had my hands on it.

I don't understand why there are so many posts about of how painful MDMA is to snort, I found it one of the smoothest up the tooter!
 
Sniffed all kinds in my time, SHUT IT COMLPAINING ON 2C's they do hurt a bit but try hoovering Ethylphenadate crystal EVERYDAY - what scares me is my tolerence is up so lynns aren't lil' 20-30 more like 70-100 (mg) probably snorted 28g due to daily addiction since '03/2012.

Actually in answer all kinds can change what makes a guy snort a line, turn into a fox and wear leather, flip a nickle and chew on a toothpick and what else can make that same guy hug the bed screaming I WANT MY TEDDY BEAR FROM WHEN I WAS 5 THE PAIN *cries*


how crushed it is
the type of chem crystal, floury
the desire to take the drug (ie, someone add'/dep would feel less pain as they just want it up there)
the amouunt of pain relief (after bangin' le' heroinz snorting eth is less painful, also let's)
Redosin' n dopamine (dopamine kills pain)
impurities and cutting agents

Another thing that might help you out is to snort it pure, cut it down first (I know this breaks the rules a tad) but sometimes doing heroin I might snort it at first but often doing eth I'll make an eth line and mix 3:1 or summit then bosh it around and it's one line of both but you still feel some burn.

Some stuff don't burn like methylone but flour like it feel odd. Heroin too brown #3 feels abit sot n annoying.

Really? First time I tried it somebody said it was 'comparible with mephedrone', being far too used to snorting that I assumed it would be okay... I couldn't believe the pain lol. Every time I've snorted it my eyes have started pouring water.

Well 'pure' MDMA is what I'm talking about. Although pure probably isn't the word.
 
I don't find pure MDMA painful to snort, at least not the pure MDMA I have snorted in the past. It was after the drought and was of Very high purity so maybe that helped...
 
Let's try to get back to speculation about mechanisms rather than unaccompanied empirical data.

In my experience, the HCL salts of 2c-halo compounds are WAY worse than either meth or vanilla amphetamine. MDMA lies somewhat in between the former and the latter, but the active dose is way higher for MDMA. Given that MDMA is a secondary amine, and amphetamine a primary amine, I'm not sure how confident I am in this explanation.
