I haven't tried 2C-E but I have tried 2C-I. I tend to get a bad headache the next day but I seem to be alone on this.
Also, I find dosages hard to figure out. Not only do different people react differently to these substances, but I find that a person can react differently on the same dosage on a different occasion subject to other variables - and I wish I knew what these were. For instance, I have been floored once by 2C-I whilst a friend was in the perfect region. On another occasion, I took twice the dose as the same friend and experienced the mildest of visuals whilst he was tripping hard. Having said that there is every chance that the second occasion involved a different branch of the 2C-x family.
Psilo, are you able to shed some light on this, or am I mistaken?
You're definitely not mistaken Shiverman. Psychedelics, compared to all other drugs, will produce
vastly different effects in the same user at different times. Of all the psychedelics that I have bioassayed, nothing comes close to the synthetic phenethylamines for effects differences.
A few years ago, I played around with the same batch of 2C-I for months on end. After reagent testing (comparing to online info) and then incrementally working my way up to a threshold dose to make sure that it was in fact 2C-I, myself and a close friend took a dose of 20mg. I was nicely high from this dose and my friend was blasted into the stratosphere. At first, I thought I had a natural tolerance, but the following weekend we both took the same dose, in the same environment and this time I was the one 'walking on the moon'. I always dose on an empty stomach, this way food doesn't slow down the absorption rate and it also helps to reduce nausea.
On other occasions, with the same batch of 2C-I, I took 40+mg and got similar effects to when I only took 20mg. My friend sailed smoothly on 30mg one weekend and had a hypertensive crisis on just 15mg the next weekend.
I have experienced the exact same thing with 2C-E, 2C-B, 2C-C and 2C-T-7. In recent times it has become less common, but every now and then I am still bit in the ass by doses that I don't consider heroic.
Little is known about these substances. They just don't have the same user base as say MDMA, which has been used by millions of people for the past 30 years, so the amount of available information is very limited. Different batches can have slightly different potency's. Newly acquired products have a different danger that can be reduced by trying tiny doses at first: as with all black market chemicals, mislabeling or misidentification of a substance are a constant threat to the health of users. A friend of mine got some of the infamous mislabeled 2C-B-fly which turned out to be the much more potent and toxic bromo-dragonfly. We started with a dose of 1mg, which is a massive dose of bromo-dragonly (a common dose is 300 micrograms) and an unnoticeable dose of 2C-B-fly. I can't stress enough the importance of starting low and working your way up. Many people have died from mislabeled RC's over the years and many more have been hospitalized. If we took a common 2C-B-fly dose of bromo-dragonfly we would definitely have been hospitalized from vasoconstriction and could have easily died.
Expect
vastly different effects from 2C-*'s on similar doses, in similar environments, in a similar pre-trip head space, especially when you are starting out. Remember that a dose which works for you, could be way too much for a friend, even if your friend weighs twice as much as you! As with all drugs some people are naturally intolerant and will get strong effects from half the average dose. As with all psychedelics, 'less is best' in social environments such as festivals. Losing your shit is a waste of what should be a fun event, so save big doses for intimate settings.
Respect these substances and they will respect you. I have had some wonderful experiences with phenethylamines over the years and I'm sure you and I have many more to come.
And with that rant I am off to bed
