Phenethylamines 2cb long term storage in gel cap

I know 2C-B is a remarkably stable molecule, that's not my question. My question is how stable is it inside a gel capsule? Do gel capsules expire? They're made of cellulose and starch and stuff I think? Could it theoretically grow mold?

Would it be better to just store it in a non-organic container?

That doesn’t inspire a whole lot of confidence in me lol, given that 2cb is only 1 carbon, 1 hydrogen, and 1 bromine atom away from mdma. I realize that's a pretty big difference in the grand scheme of things, but I'm paranoid.

I think I'm going to take it out and put it in a small glass vial just to be safe.

I'm mostly concerned about mold and shit anyways. I've handled that capsule quite a bit without washing my hands first.
 
yeah i would have stored it in a vial if i knew i was keeping it for years

the mdma stayed potent, it just changed states. i didn't know it could do that

if it's a normal see-through gel cap then mold shouldn't be a problem

i had it exposed to some high humidity and nothing ended up growing on it

dry chemicals stay stable for way longer than people assume imho
 
About 20 years ago, someone gave me samples of all the 2C’s and they were all in a gel cap. All of them were fine. It took a couple of years to get to some. Of course they were all stored in a glass jar too.

You could probably leave to 2C-B out in the open air for years and it’ll be fine. Mescaline it’s like that. It’ll be fine in cactus for years.
 
Never had a gelcap go bad before I got to it. Have stored them for years.

In general you should store your stuff long term in a cool, dark and not humid place. Inside of a sealed container in a freezer is best in my experience. Usually in glass or plastic container with a decandant of some kind. When I didn't have a freezer I used a large wooden box. Both worked fine for storing various chemicals for many years. I have some decade old MDMA in my freezer right now that was just as strong and the same color as the day I bought it when I last sampled some a few months ago.
 
Do whatever makes you happy. Gelatin keeps indefinitely. You can search to confirm that. It will be fine in another container, too. 2C-B is extremely stable. What you risk is losing material with the powder adhering to surfaces every time you transfer it.
 
Ive had gel caps that ive had for AGES... never seen anything go bad in them however, i have seen the gel caps lose elasticity and become quite brittle over prolonged exposure to air, in which case ive pulled out my bag with my capsule in it, its broken and now powder is all over the bag

Same experience here.
Keep each gel cap individually bagged in a 1”x1” dime bag, with all dime bags in an amber jar or similar airtight container, and you will be golden.
