2C-T-7 You only get one first time

I will never forget the first time I tripped on LSD. In was 1980 and even twenty years later it was still one of the top 5 trips ever. The good psychedelics disappeared in my area of Chattanooga, TN about 2000 and my only experiences since then have been with MDMA. What I am reading about the 2C synthetic chemicals has got my attention and I'm here to learn more. Especially an article in the New Yorker mag. which was also featured on NPR on 6/4/2013.

I think I want to start with is 2C-T-7. I base this only on what I have read since I've never met anyone who has tried any of the 2C synthetics. For someone with thousands of more traditional trips under their belt (LSD, Mushrooms, MDMA, Mescaline, NO2) but having never tried one of these, is 2C-T-7 the place to start?

I'd think that you'd probably want to start with what's available. 2C-T-7 was made illegal fairly quickly and so it probably won't be as easy to find as some others...
 
That's a good point. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be allot of information what's still in the legal 'gray' area. Or maybe I just haven't looked in the right places. Of those, is there one you would recommend. I'm looking for the types of visuals I used to get with really clean acid. Not just the melting colors and traces but the colors I would see that never existed when I shut my eyes or watching the chess pieces move around on their own. Actual hallucinating. Am I hoping for to much?

You won't get much from the 2C's if you're hoping for these kind of effects, high-dose 2C-E, 2C-P should do it... that's my favorite for that type of thing. I don't think the 2C-T's are quite what you're looking for.
 
One thing is for sure about 2C-T-7...there is a huge variance in effects...Shulgin definitely noted this in his text. No matter what any other BLer says....in my playbook 2C-T-7 is the bees knees of psychedelics...it does everything that LSD (the 'mental' effects, the change of perspective), mescaline (the visionary, the shaman's choice), and MDMA (oneness, empathy, spiritually cleansing) do....only 2C-T-7 does it better than all three by an order of magnitude.

On the other hand, I don't think anyone in my circle finds it as wonderful as I do. I've shared it with a number of people, and all good experiences all around....but seldom do people conclude what I do....that it is the BEST synthetic PEA, ever.

It's not that I don't recommend it, but you will probably find 2C-B far more accessible....or 2C-E to be more like the LSD trips you remember.

You've made my mouth salivate for 2C-T-7. One question, how do you find the effects compare to 2C-T-2? 2C-T-2 and 2C-P are my favorite two 2C's... so you can see how a combination of both chemicals intrigues the hell out of me.
 
2C-T-7 is great but beware its steep dose-response curve. For something a little easier to attain, I might go with 2C-E. On the other hand, if you come across 2C-B, do NOT pass that one up either...

I've got a report at Erowid on 2C-T-2 and I do a lot of comparing between it and T7. In a word, horrible material for me, and also my partner back in those days...2C-T-2 was the only '2C' that offered me nothing....ok first time was *ok* but it never was worth the amount of 'paying the piper' I had to do when I would put it in my body. I look at throwing up as a chance to purge myself of 'bad' stuff, but add a horrendous body load and lack luster psychedelic effects and it wound up in the toilet. Tried it at a whole range of dosages...from 16mg on up to 30mg and only the first time was redeeming.
 
I have never tried any of the 2c-t-x compounds, but I have tried 2c-b, 2c-c, 2c-i, and 2c-e. The halogenated 2c-x's (the first three I listed) tend to be more gentle. 2c-e can be a bit difficult for some, but it bears the most similarity to lsd.

Overall, I think the 2c drugs are an excellent series of compounds, no less important that the more traditional psychedelics. You have come to the right place for information here at Bluelight. If you haven't yet, I strongly recommend you check out erowid.org and read PIHKAL.
 
good luck finding this stuff, it was scheduled years ago along with the rest of the first wave tryptamine and phenethylamine RCs. 2c-t-7 is a wild one. i tried it once a long time ago as an undergraduate and it rode me hard and put me away wet. i remember fragments of the evening tripping hard but as well some of it's just a blackout to me. more of my friends reported waking up in puddles of their own shit/piss/vomit, seizures and erratic behavior while on this compound than any other RC i've ever encountered. i think the caps we all took were a little on the heavy side, dose-wise... if you do ever come across this one, i advise care... it can mess you up way more than mdma, mda, 2c-b, shrooms, lsd, etc... high body load. definitely a psychedelic, not an empathogen.
 
As with any compound, a working scale and a knowledge of dosage is key. Stick with the Shulgin dosages until you know your compound first hand. I've shared a lot of 2C-T-7 and the only negative response was that my friends and loved ones weren't as enthusiastic about T7 as I am. That's cool, more for me.
 
While 2C-T-7 is a marvellous drug, certainly one of my favorites, I don't think it is good to begin with because it is rather unpredictable. I have read enough reports about people getting strong effects with a lower dose and weaker effects with a higher dose, and my experiences are like that as well. Sure you can titrate and just roll with it, as long as you keep an eye on the margins and therapeutic index... but this is best done with a little more experience titrating other psychedelics. On top of that 2C-T-7 can produce very messed up states of consciousness including delirium if you dose too high (Again: with some experience you can learn to make proper judgement calls to avoid that, but for beginners this is asking for trouble.) - there can also be physical risks that are not well understood but those should not happen at reasonable doses. Still it is worth considering.

Furthermore:
On the one hand I don't think you should overhype the "first time" thing too much, not because it is not special but because for the first while a lot of trips can be novel after the very first one. Every new encounter with a new gem can be very special. Overhyping this can set you up for disappointment. Don't expect so much from it, just realize that a lot of these experiences can be potentially beautiful, just leave the rest a little open.
On the other hand, if you insist on making the first time extra special, it is impractical that 2C-T-7 needs to be titrated very carefully. It is really not a good idea to try to choose a full dose for your first time and jump in. So if you want to make the first time nice, choose a compound that allows you to take a standard / full dose that typically produces a +++ experience, but that is said to be forgiving if the trip is a little stronger than expected.

2C-T-7 is a little harder to find than the most popular 2C's (2C-E, 2C-I) but it is not considered illegal like 2C-B, or at least: I know of at least one source that has it and have seen it at other places in the course of years as well.
 
I guess I need to be realistic and see what is actually accessible then decide what to spend my money on. When I get home from work today I'll also check out PIHKAL. I hope this is OK to ask, are there some places I should avoid ordering from?
 
'Vendor' discussion (aka internet drug dealer) is something we shy away from here....many good reasons for that but either way, it is forbidden.

yeh 2C-T-7 is very unpredictable dose wise, i thought it was great around 25mg, i once snorted 10mg by accident (dont ask) !! and ended up in a very bad state, i blacked out and began thrashing around like a seizure of some sort, i was fine once i came round but had a hell of a sore hip. i definitely loved this chemical but found 18mg to be stronger than 24mg and so on ... strange but lovely stuff
 
Sorry that I have to piss on the parade, but there is zero tolerance for anything vendor related. There are no exceptions, when it comes to drug sources even secondary reference sites for them.
The only thing that is different is vendors of things other than drugs, such as precision balances. That is not really an 'exception', it is just something different.

Now you know. :)

But good luck - have some patience and persistence and things will happen for you, or at least I hope so.
