2C-I solution gone bad? (Pictures Inside)

Hey PD! So the other day i was stoked to give 2C-I a try out in a social setting after a long break. Sadly I came upon a jar with what looked like mold at first to me or something. I am not sure it is mold and i would think mold has some other colors than white. Anywho, could anyone verify from these pictures what is happening to my solution? Is it just the chemical? Could I evaporate the water and if so how? It is just distilled H20, no alcohol.

It's definitely alive, looks kinda like white mold-- or possibly some type of biofilm, OR somebody jizzed in your 2C-I... but I can't tell from the pics.

Just throw it out, there's no salvaging.

Always keep your chems in at least an 18% alcohol solution to avoid this happening in the future.
 
Try adding a measured amount of ethanol into the solution and see what happens, just for curiosity's sake. Enough to raise the %ethanol in the solution above 25 or so percent.
 
I would throw it out. I'm no expert on mold, but IMO even if you kill the mold, you may still have toxins that the mold released in the solution.
 
What exactly could this mold be surviving on?

Distilled water + 2c-i = Strange 2c-i consuming fungus?

If if is a mold, $5 says you just discovered a new species that survives off powerful hallucinogenic drugs....
 
i thought it looked like jizz too. and judging from the background i'd guess you live in a rental place in a college town? (i used to have almost the exact same kitchen, twice) so jizz may be a real possibility... How much 2c-i was in the solution? I suppose it could just be gooey 2c-i that has come out of solution and settled on the bottom, but obviously i have no way to be sure about that. If it smells really bad its likely mold, but i don't know of any fungi that are capable of digesting psychedelic phenethylamines... was there a lid on the container? had the container been sterilized?
 
well, we are discovering new forms of life that eat strange sources of energy practically every week... and a phenethylamine has plenty of carbon-carbon bonds with which to gain energy from. what was the original concentration of 2C-I in the solution? if it was highly concentrated then it could have evaporated and recrystallized, but those don't really look like crystal formations to me. i second the smell-check.

worst-case scenario, perhaps you could try to basify (with NaOH), extract (with toluene), and evaporate for a relatively clean freebase 2C-I. only worth it if there's >100mg of chem in there, cuz you'll lose a lot of product in the transfer steps unless you have clean micro-scale glassware.
 
also, mold usually looks a bit fuzzy, this looked more gelatinous, but i can't be sure from the picture. If it is mold, it would suck that you lost some 2c-i solution, but would also be quite exciting if it were a new species of mold. I wonder if some psychedelically inclined mold species have evolved in the relatively unregulated Chinese labs that produce this stuff.... China hasn't been known for its safety & manufacturing standards :\
 
it's preferable to dissolve the phenethylamine into a lotion or salve so you can have maximum contact with your member ;) "i fucked 2c-i"

at the risk of going even further off-topic, i recall there was a thread a while back about penile absorption of drugs... the idea was that vaginal absorption should work for girls (improved when horny due to heat and blood flow) similarly to rectal absorption, but i don't think it would work the same way for guys. probably would feel at least a little uncomfortable on the head and urethra (the only part that could be considered a mucous membrane), and fairly wasteful as well. not very much surface area on the penis, and most of it is just plain skin anyway.

Hey guys! I am back from work.


So first off no, that is my house. I live in a small house though. So no one would have jizzed in it without me knowing. haha :)


Okay so i smelt it and it kind of smells like beer. What would mold smell like? I could try what ROger said about the alcohol but ill wait a little.

The top did have the cap on too. It was never exposed. I have had this for about 9 months. I kept it in my closet.

The original solution was:


5mg/1ml



I only had 500mg.


It has been like this for over a week, and has not changed.
 
eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww, you wasted a half gram of 2C-I. That sucks. Yea, if it smells, it probably fermented. New liquor? Like what absinthe tries to be? 2C-I, ITLL GIT YA DRUNK!
