I am glad to see formal research with 2c-b. It is one of my favorite compounds and has proved to be by far the best for therapeutic usage for me. It is usually regarded as mild but has the potential to be extremely powerful in certain parts of the trip. I think it could potentially be more valuable than the more commonly used psychedelics in a therapeutic setting.
Even though it's great to see 2c-b getting more attention, it doesn't look like this initial report has much valuable information to offer. You basically could have looked on erowid and come to the same conclusions. I also have an issue with his methodology, specifically how the participants were asked to classify the drug as a "hallucinogen" and report if they had "hallucinations". I worry that the criteria were unclear as to what would constitute a hallucination and what they meant, if anything, by a drug being a hallucinogen.
He announced that they are doing a second trial, which is good news. I am especially happy to learn that they are going to also try out 2c-b + mdma. I feel that additional exploration of this combo could offer improvements to existing practices of mdma psychotherapy.
