2C-B is the first psychedelic I ever tried that wasn't acid or mushrooms. It was the first phenethylamine I ever tried, having done it more than a year before I ever took MDMA for the first time. When I was 18, a friend had sent me one 10mg tablet, which I now know to be a small dose. It barely did much, leaving me thinking of 2C-B as a light psychedelic, one which just kind of gives a good body high and a few visuals...
Last night, my opinion of 2C-B was changed forever!!
I took 20mg all at once, in solution. This was only my second time ever taking 2C-B, and the 10mg dose I took was 11 years ago. I half expected the experience to be very similar to my first experience, but with maybe some more body high. However, as the first alerts came on I realized I was going to experience a whole lot more about this drug that I didn't get the first time around.
At about an hour after ingestion, my visual field was definitely affected. Colors were very prominent to me, and everything looked as if I were watching light being reflected off of ripples in a swimming pool. I had a lot of energy, so I put on some nasty DnB and started dancing around my living room. This stuff comes on strong, and it really kind of forced me to start dancing, like I had no choice in the matter. Whenever I stopped dancing I would find myself start pacing back and forth until I eventually ended up dancing again without my knowing it.
I felt like drum and bass was definitely the appropriate tempo that 2C-B made me sync up to. With acid I prefer more down-tempo kind of stuff, but phenethylamines seem to make me want to accelerate my rhythms up to 220 bpm... One thing that I also noticed was that 2C-B seemed to alter my perception of music in a very unique, signature way. It was almost as if the DJ set I was listening to was actually a mix designed for 2C-B, when I have in fact danced to it on MDMA and interpreted it in a much different way. I realized that this was a specific way that 2C-B was imparting its signature on my experience... that the 2C-B was actually altering the stimuli before it got to my brain and I interpreted it.
And it was strangely alien!! The peak of the trip, which was going strong at about 2 hours after ingestion, was characterized by very foreign thoughts, which I had never really had before. It had an alien-like feeling to it... like 2C-B comes from some other planet, on some other star system, somewhere else. There was some zany, "circus-like" imagery that seemed to typify the mindset I was in, and everything was extremely happy and funny. I was able to intuit, though, that a large dose of 2C-B would potentially go so far into crazy, zany, padded-wall territory as to make it an unpleasant experience. But for me, 20mg was spot on!!!
Another amazing quality about this drug is that almost in the blink of an eye, the peak was over and I found myself not feeling so energetic any more, not seeing crazy visuals everywhere I looked, and generally just not tripping very much at all... this was at about 4.5 hours after ingestion. It came on strong, and it departed quickly. The afterglow of 2C-B was extremely pleasant, and it didn't prevent me from falling right to sleep at about 6 hours after ingestion.
This stuff is great, and I think I just found a way better drug to dance on than MDMA.
