hey guys and gals. I'm a 6 foot 240 pound male and I have been taking vyvanse for about two weeks now. I'm prescribed 40 mg of straterra which Ive taken regularly, but I have ingested 270 mg of vyvanse over the past thrirty hours trying to finish a 40 page paper. Im running on no sleep, and Im mildly dehydrated. Is this TOO MUCH, or am I getting a little discombobulated, and confused from the lack of sleep? any input is appreciated.

Are you getting hallucinations? Little corner-eyed visuals? If so, I'd say stop. That's usually when I stop.

I don't take vyvanse anymore.. but I've taken up to 280mg (4 x 70mg ) at once when I was perscribed... and it got uncomfortable at times for sure, but you are okay. I would suggest just switching to normal Dexedrine Spandule XR or something else... Vyvanse is amazing at first but tends to lose its pro-drug spark. 50mg Dexedrine Spandule a day works much better for me. Just don't bother taking anymore... you won't get anything positive out of it. Drink some fluids, eat and get some sleep.

Vyvanse is relatively in-abusable. Your body can only absorb so much at a given time, thus making it impossible to overdose on. I was taking 70 mg vyvanse for about a year and a half, and trust me, the more you take, the less it does. Look up the exact amount your body can absorb and don't take more then that. Anything more then that and you're wasting vyvanse.

Good luck my friend, you have a very exhausting time period in front of you.

YOU REALLY SHOULD
Drink fluids, asap.
Get some calories in you
Multivitamins always help

This is really all you can do to make the comedown much, much better and help smooth out that "rough patch" feeling. Amphetamines really drain the soul out of you when your sleep deprived and malnourished. I know its the last thing you want to do, but get some nutrients in your system. Being dehydrated is the worst thing to be on amphetamines.

That's basically like taking 80mg of Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) in a slow release formation... better buckle your seat belt, Dorothy.

I can imagine the comedown being excruciatingly long, which is why I think Vyvanse should not be taken at doses higher than 60-70mg, imo, if you need more, then use some IR Adderall or Dexedrine on top of a maximum of 60-70mg Vyvanse, taking 280mg of Vyvanse to write a paper (6-7 hours) is like taking 200mg MS Contin to kill the pain during a 2 hour basketball tournament with a torn knee: you only need a portion of the drug duration, so why not take only 30mg IR Morphine at once? In the same sense, taking 30-40mg of Dexedrine would have done an even better job and prevented you from tweaking on days end as the relentless Vyvanse countinues to metabolize well after you've finished writing your paper.

any access to benzo's or opiates for the comedown? its about to be a rough couple of hours. drink plenty of fluids, get some calories in you, and while you can i guess knock out that paper ;)

Please see my post, I'm typing on phone so I can't post link. I don't know about impossible to od on.....I took 160mg in 16 hours, heart started racing, became light headed, dizzy and dark. I ended up on the ground praying, I didn't know what was about to happen. ...one of the scariest things I went through. 28 hrs since the last pill it was time for work, I nearly passed out behind the wheel a couple times, walking into my job it felt like I was floating and not in a good way. ..other than very sleepy, scary thoughts and depression I thank God most of the other symptoms have went away in last 2 hrs, I don't know If their coming back?

You will be fine. Unfortunately after 15 years I have a very high tolerance and take 200 mg a day spread out, sometimes more. When you start to worry And panic it makes it worse. Drink plenty of fluids and make yourself eat. It will help with the headaches and the leg cramps. Your pulse is more than likely racing, so if your chest hasn't started hurting yet it will. Since you haven't been taking it that long the effects will more than likely last longer than with someone who has been taking it for an extended amount of time. But seriously alternate between water and Gatorade. It really helps.

First of all, the quote above isn't entirely true. While vyvanse is relatively abuse proof and that your body can only absorb so much at time that doesn't necessarily mean that you cannot overdose. Lisdexamfetamine is D-amphetamine paired with an amino acid called L-lysine, which means it is metabolized differently. If you were to take a high enough dose (Which frankly at your weight would need to be considerably larger i believe) your body would indeed absorb enough D-amphetamine to kill you.

I weigh 120 lbs and 270 mg of vyvanse is more than likely just under the lethal dose for someone of my stature. (the most i've ever taken at once is 270mg) As far as what to do goes, everyone else has said what needs to be said. Drink fluids and make sure you eat.

Just wanted to give my input - I did a round of dumb-high dosages of amphetamines (mostly Vyvanse, but sometimes Adderall too) last year when I was dealing with numerous finals' papers (and the research involved with them), all around the same length as the OP's paper:

I was right at 220 pounds, and although I usually stuck to 120-max 180 mg of Vyvanse there was one time when I took around 300 mg of Vyvanse in a 12-16 hour period. I had the same thoughts about Vyvanse and how it wasn't really even supposed to be able to be abused, but yeah, if you take it up to the 200-300 mg. level, it's just not pleasant anymore. I became hopelessly stupid about a lot of work that I was doing and became almost idiotically repetitive at that high of a dosage. This happened just under a year ago, but still, I'd say that the high doses of Vyvanse that I took made up some of the dumbest drug decisions that I've made my whole life.

That being said, I think higher than normal doses of Vyvanse are still preferable than taking higher doses of Adderall (IR or XR), but still, above 150-200 mg, shit starts to change and fast.

You should be OK, I think, because of your size and everything, but the best thing you can do is get well and re-energized by taking a lot of fluids and eating healthy. Also, I would lay off the Vyvanse for a good while...after big doses of Vyvanse, I could take it again in a week or so, but I just had bad memories of when I did 200-300 mg. at a time.

The funny thing is that I still think Vyvanse is the preferred amphetamine pill as far as how much work you can get done plus the mildly pleasant euphoria which is completely different than Adderall - that being said, be very careful with it, my friend, that shit can sting you hard when you're doing too much of it. Best of luck dude.
