25I-NBOMe blotters degrading?

Hey, first time posting. I need a little help with something.

My friend had around 100 1mg blotter hits of 25I-NBOMe mailed to him in a small plastic bag. He took it out of the bag, carefully holding the edges to avoid much contact, in order to count the hits and show me the design. He then put the blotter back in the baggie, wrapped it in tin foil, and put it in an envelope that he taped behind his desk drawer. A few days later when we took it out there was a weird white residue on the inside of the baggie. Now my friend is slightly paranoid that he did something to degrade the chemical. After trying it , it didn't seem quite as powerful as his first 1mg hit before he bought these one's himself but he's not sure if it degraded or was just less potent to begin with.

What is this residue in the bag and what should my friend do?

It sounds like it was stored in a cool dry place with no sunlight so I think it's unlikely to have degraded in a few days. I am unsure as to the solubility of 25i in water could there have been some condensation that removed some of the chemical from the blotter that deposited it on the bag? It could just have felt weaker as it was expected to feel weaker or a possible tolerance if the two doses were taken close together. Maybe somebody else can shed some light as I am just guessing.

the nbome series should be very stable, its likely that the paper is just 'shedding' the 25x to some extent. 1mg can be a lot of material to absorb in a little paper square.

But if I understand correctly, the blotter was only touching the foil it was in while the residue was on the inside of the plastic baggie? Pretty sure that it didn't sublimate ;)

However what remains is that these compounds should be stable especially when they are apparently fresh. And degradation products would according to expectation be much weaker in effect (in this case plain 2C-I).

Still, if it is 25I-NBOMe that you are seeing, you should be very careful not to (over)dose yourself with it by touching it and then touching your face/mouth/etc.

To clarify, the blotter is in a small plastic bag. Tin foil is wrapped around this bag. And I didn't mention this before, but that tinfoil is enclosed in yet another, larger plastic bag. The residue is inside of the bag directly holding the blotter and is in the shape of where the blotter paper is resting against the bag. You can actually see a faint outline of where the individual tabs are in this residue. Is it more effective for the tinfoil to be in direct contact with the blotter? My friend was thinking the tinfoil was mostly for keeping out the light.

Ah, thanks for clarifying.
No I don't think it matters in what order you do this, not in this case. But in my experience blotter directly in foil is nice because you can fold around it neatly, foil around a baggy is somehow annoying. But whatever you prefer is okay.

i just keep mine wrapped in tinfoil in an old game case and didnt have any problems
