24k gold rolling papers?

That just doesn't look healthy, saw someone posted a joint rolled with these online, I wouldn't myself and wonder if that's healthy, it looks fucked up

A friend showed me these the other day. I just don't see how they'd be that good at all. Gold isn't that flammable.

As to the health concerns, I found this on their website:

However, we are conscious of the concern of health and want to offer a fun product that you can enjoy without the fears of getting sick. There is very little research regarding inhaling gold particles, but in May, 2011 some researchers worked with rats on gold inhalation and here are the results:

Rats were subjected to inhaling gold nanoparticles (2.36 × 105 particle/cm3, 0.38 μg/m3) for 6 hours/day, 5 days/week, for 90-days in a whole-body inhalation chamber and the levels of gold were not statistically significant in the severity of any adverse effects (NOAEL – No-observed-adverse-effect level). So, that study found no adverse side effects after 6 hours/day, 5 days/week, for 90 days of gold inhalation in a whole body chamber… if you’re smoking that much Shine contact us about buying the company.

Hmmm... So I can either buy some rolling papers made of gold, or buy alot more weed and roll a fat blunt instead...

I think I'll go with more weed.
 
some people just like to show off.. like the dude with the gold cell phone.. you're rich, we get it.
 
That is a nice bong indeed. If you had the type of money to own a supercar or something & smoked regularly why not buy it? Put in that perspective it is simply an extremely high end bong. The papers look like shit to me.

Historically, hand-rolling cigarettes was an economical alternative to purchasing commercial packs. But a new product has taken the ritual to a luxurious counterpoint and is attracting self-described ballers within the hip-hop community as well as other, ahem, high rollers.

Shine Papers are 24K rolling papers combining edible gold leaf with a slow-burning interior paper. Prices range from $55 to $60 for a pack of 12, depending upon whether they are purchased directly from the company or on Amazon.com.

"It's definitely not an everyday product because of the price point," said Shine Papers owner Dave D., who declined to provide a last name. "But the people who feel like they are that person are showing a lot of support for it and returning to reorder."

The papers are intended for use with cigars or legal smoking herbs, according to the company's website. But the Shine Papers Twitter profile strikes a different tone.

"Roll up on a party with 24K gold joints!" it reads.

Likewise, tweets and Instagram photos tagging Shine Papers indicate that not many customers are using the product to smoke St. John's wort or yerba.
 
These papers seem like a cheap attempt to market to people who are looking to impress others with bullshit. Nice try but Id never buy a pack. They might gain some ground being sold as pre-rolls in weed shops but thats it most likely.
 
It could be gold as it possible to lay that metal so thin that its three atoms thick and can still look really substantial.. but since it is so unreactive the chance at cleaning this out of the lungs might be pretty small... load your joint with gold and why worry about all the ghetto bling.. wtf LMFAO
