Television 24

ohhh be patient vit. i have faith in baur( although i wish i could say the same for fox) i just hope and prey fox isent trying to sink with and make it soemkind of shitty drama soap like OC and skin

I have seen every episode in the history of the show and own the first 2 seasons on dvd.
I think The first 2 seasons were great, the first being slightly better.

But I must say this season has not lived up to my expectations. The whole baby situation is just boring and annoying. Also Kim working at CTU is unbelieveable and just dumb.

Last episode however was the best of the year when Jack shot Nina. After that happened I just thought "it is about damn time."

How do you guys feel about this season compared to the previous 2?
 
i love this show to death, and the only thing im pissed about is WAITING TILL MARCH 30TH FOR THE NEXT FUCKING EPISODE!

I know you want to build suspense and get viewers, but damn a month on that cliffhanger? im gonna go nuts

what the fuck is up with that! There was a time, like in the middle of the first season, where I would have driven a truck full of explosives into the fox building for making me wait this long, but with this season, I think I'll just me irked.

Does anybody else think that detonating a nuke is sort of like the epitome of jumping the shark for the series?
 
Every season there has been a long wait. I blame sweeps and American Idol 2 hour specials
 
If yah like 24, watch the Shield, but make sure you start with Season 1...far superior in my eyes, at least since the 3rd season of 24 turned into a giant Ford advertisement. It has a very similar intensity and is one flowing story line, similar to 24 or Sopranos. Vic Mackey is badass (even if he does look like a meatball).
 
***Season 1 spoilers below***

I really loved the first series, up until the end of the second last episode where they revealed Nina as a traitor. Up to that point, every twist made sense and if you looked back over previous events it all tied up. However Nina being a traitor was so obviously an after thought by the writers that it ruined the entire show for me. There were countless times earlier in the series where if Nina was truly a traitor the whole time she would have acted differently. Looking back over the series when they repeated it later (with the knowledge of how it ended), and there were so many problems stemming from that twist that the show was no longer coherent.

So I didn't watch the second series, and I'm not watching the third either.
 
^I think the point of her acting that way, was to show how undeiniably ruthless she was, and if you watch the other two seasons, they get into her ruthlessness even more. She is incredibly cunning, and knows exactly what emotional response will be required for someone to believe her.

I for one, think the third season is absolutely amazing. Theres only two episodes left, and you still have NO clue whats gonna happen, no idea at all.

as for the doubters, 24 was picked up for a fourth season by Fox.
 
I watched a good bit of the first season on DVD with my floor mates at college. I found the acting in 24 to be rather cheesy, the whole concept of an entire season taking place over one day to be very boring, and the actual action and plot of the show to be highly unoriginal. At least there was the very attractive Elisha Cuthbert to look at.

OK! New season! I liked it, so far. But honestly, the luster is wearing off. I'd hoped they'd do a prelude to the first season, finally so we could have Dennis Hoper back for a season, but no.

Also, no Elisha Cuthbert. Instead we get Kim Raver who is not even close to as hot as Elisha. She fits her role on Third Watch, sure, but I don't really find her that hot. Oh well.

Also, I missed the 4th installment thanks to my roomate and his annoying, plutonic girlfriend; Jack robs the gas station to slow-up the terrorist...what happened next? Thanks for that update.

What are the other watchers opinions so far of season 4?

Awesome show!!!

I only have seen the first season.....I started to watch the 4th but theres so much in there refeering to the 2nd and 3rd that its hard for me to follow and i dont want any spoilers cuz i def plan on watching the previous ones.....

after the robbery, a cop walked into the gas station, and long story short. more cops show up, jack uses the terrorist as a hostage and escapes in the hostages car. Finally gets the sattelite coverage up, and tells chloe to keep it on the terrorist, since he will be "traveling route 11 on foot" tio make it seem like he is really a robber, jack takes the hostage and kicks him out the car, tells him to walk. Steals his car.

then, the head of ctu i forget her damn name, catches jack on satalite. arrests chloe for stealing the bandwith, and then calls jack telling him shes going to bring in the suspect. he says no, that once he gets a car he will lead them to the defense secretary. she says no, and orders a squad to pick him up.

jack continues down to road in the stolen car with the gpa of the terrorist's location on his pda. when a road block of cops pull in front and back of him and arrest him for robbing the store. after that they cut to a scene in ctu of everyone watching the sattelite. on it you see the terrorist flag down a car, drag the driver out and steal the car and phone. he uses the phone, they record the call of the cell tower and it is off the terrorist telling the main terrorist he is on his way, it ends with "jack was right.........tell the squads to hold off"



as for me? I love this show to death, I think this can be the best season, if it doesnt start off hard and loose steam as it goes down the line ALA season 3. and as long as american idol doesnt cut into episode time again. waiting 3 weeks for one episode is killer.
 
24 is awesome!!...although i did miss the first episode of the new season. will they be showing it again or did anyone record it?!
