Hello everyone, I have been a long time reader of bluelight and finally decided to join. I am going to try to make this as quick as possible. I was in a car accident 2 years ago and broke my neck, 2 vertabrae were crushed and I almost died. This was right after my second son was born. four days after to be exact. I was on the hospital for weeks while they surgically repaired my neck with a metal cage and screws. a few months later the surgery wasnt working so two weeks before christmas they did a second more extensive surgery where they grafted a bone from my hip and put it in my neck with an additional metal cage and more screws. needless to say i was on large amounts of narcotics during this almost year long process and sadly I developed a habit. I have now been an opiate addict for a few years and my life is spiraling out of control. When ever I dont have my pills I have severe anxiety and can hardly talk to people, severe depression verging on suicidal thoughts all of the usual withdrawal symptoms. I have gone weeks without pills but the urge to use is so strong I always relapse. I joined this site to talk to others about my drug use, my life, and my ongoing addiction. Anyone that reads this and wants to talk I would absolutely love it. I am looking for some friends that know what it is like to struggle or just simply like to talk about everyday life and our drug use experiences.

Welcome to our community, it truly is full of some wonderful people. I'm afriad I've no idea what your going through, I've never having tried opiates, however you'll probably want to check out The Dark Side. If you post there I'm sure plenty of people will give advice and share their own experiences.

My thoughts go out to you and I wish you the best of luck kicking your habit.

Nick, nice to be able to talk to you. I am a former,retired auto worker with severe disk herniations *& other problems. I am DEPENDENT on opiates, but not an addict.I take a certian number of pills, depending what I'm on. I'm on oxy at the moment,on o clinical study. Was on Vicodin ES, will probably return to it,after the study is done. Do you just take your pills to relieve the pain, or to get high? I will NEBVER be off opiates, but it gave me back my life, I can work & live normally.
