My first foray into the 'synthetic shrooms' RCs (4-PrO-DMT) was not a disappointment in any way - I must say it even whipped my hide into shape. I've had quite a few trips over my life; acid; mushrooms; 2-CB; DMT; MAL; kitty; molly; a little bit of a lit of Dex - but this experience really stood out to me.
Irregardless, it was a Sunday night, at home, alone; pretty much all of my trip buddies are across the globe right now, leaving me - a lone stoner - to commit my degeneracy within the confines of my domicile. I had just finished up on an exam which I had varying degrees of confidence in. I had recently acquired myself some more hallucinogens in anticipation of the end of my academic carreer. Always curious, I decided to get myself some 4-PrO-DMT instead of just the all natural stuff because I wanted to see if they were truly any different from 'real' psilocybin mushrooms. I had some ketamine with me too, with the original intention to K-hole myself while I was deep into the trip. Nonetheless, I was feeling pretty alright that night.
At 10:10, (+00:00) I decided to measure out two 20mg dose gel capsules of the 4-PrO, eating one and deciding to save the rest for after the comeup.
+00:20 - I went outside to break up some hashish (~100mg) I had lying around to try and get myself off the ground a little quicker. I was still reeling a little bit from the same amount that I smoked maybe 3 hours earlier while I ws listening to Johnny Cash's show at Folsom.
+00:40 - Soon after, I hopped in the shower to clean myself up. It was while I was in here that I was beginning to see some abstract shapes and neon lights with my closed eyes. Coming out of the shower I noted that I felt really stoned - too much for just hash to do to me; this must be 4-PrO doing its work.
+01:00 - An hour into dosing, I flt extremely stoned and euphoric. The OEVs were now very apparent; I was supprised to see them come through so quickly. I decided not to take the other capsule.
+01:20 - I had ~ 100mg of ketamine measured out; splitting it into three piles (two of which were clearly the same and one a little larger) I insufflated one of the smaller piles.
+01:27 - insufflated the larger pile of K. decided not to continue with the third. Eyeballing the piles probably wasn't such a good idea in hindsight.
Between then and the peak, which came +02:00 after my first dose, I was completely out of it. Frozen to the couch, I was having the craziest visions - of my past, my present, and my future. It was all very insightful, spiritual - just like real mushrooms are. Even though I did not take enough ketamine for a 'true' K-hole, I was nonetheless having crazy ego dissolution at high speeds.
+02:26 - I could definitely tell that the most intense ofnthe 4-PrO, or at least the ketamine had dissipated. I was now lucid enough to realise that I had a movie playing - the duration of which I was completely unconcious for. Despite the peak being over, I was still tripping quite hard.
+3:00 - Still tripping, I decided I was too tired to ride this thing out to completion. I went to bed and had weird dreams that escape me now. I awoke the next day at 11:00AM in the morning, still half asleep.
I would have to say that 4-PrO-DMT is quite the treat. There aren't a ton of reports on this drug online as of yet, but let it be known that despite what may be interpreted from other reports, this is in no way less powerful than natural mushrooms - probably owing to its shorter duration leading to a denser experience. I was completely blown aback by just how crazy this was. I honestly woudn't even do it with the ketamine next time, to keep myself at least somewhat lucid throughout the entire trip. If you're trying this for yourself, I would highly suggest you do no more than 20mg for yout first time, as a heroic dose off this thing might be too overwhelming.
Now time for the real questions: Does 4-PrO have any uniquity from 'real' mushrooms? I would say a little yes and no. Visually, it was almost indistinguishable - I've done quite a bit of shrooms in my life, and if you gave me pure 4-HO-DMT (Psilocin) and some 4-PrO, I would be hard pressed to spot the difference. What I DID notice however, was a small amount of nerve stimulation within my head that felt like little prickles at times. I am not sure if this is due to the drug itself, or simply a result of the countless other intense psychedelic trips I've had over the years. There was also zero nausea which made life very easy.
