2024 US Presidential Election

Can Americans bet on the outcome of the US election? In Australia we can and I don't know the exact odds for 2024 but in 2016 Hillary was odds on fave at $1.70 and Trump was paying more than $4.50. All the left wing media here in straya were going bat shit crazy about how Hilary would change the world for good while the aussie right wing media had a field day when against all odds Trump won.

I know this happened just about everywhere on earth and what I said is nothing new but seriously how often does a $4.50 outsider win the super bowl or a NBA play off? Correct me if I am wrong but the last time a NBA team came from 0-3 down to level the series at 3-3 was Boston Celtics a while back but it was all for nothing and lost game 7. A bit like Hillary 2016.. She started the 2016 campaign all guns blazing, flying out of the blocks full of confidence, early on things looked a little rocky with rumours then got bedazzled in the home straight

Anyway I suggest dropperneck look up Andrew Bolt Channel Ten Australia or Andrew Bolt Sky news Australia because Andrew Bolt is a master of disproving anadotatal evidence that is proof of climate change with his use of statistics.

Yeah we still have betting on it. Bovada, predictit and a lot of other places you can bet on not only the general election but local/state elections too

In the UK the 2024 election odds are currently:

Trump 6/4
Biden 7/4

Others vary from 8/1 to 250/1.

Given Malaysian betting syndicates have been known to influence some pretty significant events to assure the outcome they seek, it would be interesting to know just how much HAS been bet.

Don't forget, the odds aren't actually anyone's judgement on who will win. Odds are simply a function of who is betting what in a manner than ensures the bookmaker wins whatever the result.

Another question I've still never gotten an answer to:

If they rigged the election in 2020 against trump, why'd they let him win in 2016?

I mean, he lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton, one of the most hated Democrats ever, yet he still won the electoral vote.

It would have been so easy to fudge the numbers in a couple of states to favor Hillary, but I guess they just chose not too. 🤔 The powers that be just decided to give up a golden opportunity to get their girl in? 🤔

I asked another user (JGrimez) this exact question before

He said that The Establishment merely wasn’t expecting the level of support that Trump attained in 2016, which I didn’t think made sense but ok. For one, voter turnout was way down in 2016 overall…for another, as he mentioned, the win was a result of the electoral college count and not the popular vote, which Clinton won.

But, more generally, the fact that they could be so easily thrown off guard by a complete political amateur like orange man kind of belies the notion of an Establishment which is firmly in the saddle and controls everything in everything in American society, politically, culturally, financially etc. It’s kind of a contradiction at the heart of a lot of conspiracy theories imo, like oh all these shadowy forces in society are pulling hidden strings everywhere, they’re pulling all these scams to keep the wool pulled over our eyes!!! It’s like if they’ve achieved the level of power & influence that you alleged they have, combined with the kind of amoral and depraved mental outlook you claim they have, why do they even need to bother with “scamming” the public?

Given they are both corrupt billionaires with the same questionable friend circles i think it's crazy to think either Trump or Biden/Clinton would benefit the general public in any way shape or form.

The saying 'two heads of the same snake', is quite literal here.

Isn't the common conclusion that both sides of politics are puppets for the families of the wealthy elite in each families home country???

Like in China the big 4 powerful families have more control over Chinese people and chinese policy than the CCP and Xi Jiping. Well some would say it's a balancing act of weighting up the good of the everyday Chinese person verses keeping an iron grip on power without losing the support of key CCP members. All of course while making the PRC the new global power.

Chiefly the powerful Beijing family that resides in the forbidden city and has more wealth than any other family on earth, okay maybe the Rothchild's have more money but that's debatable as no one knows the exact true extent of each of the big 4 families wealth as no media outlet dares publish a word against those members of the upper echelons of Chinese power.

everyone in the US is free to criticize the wealthy elites although I don't really get upper middle class Americans. Why would the rich be against universal health care, ahhh that's right Americans want to pay the lowest possible amount of tax and it doesn't matter that it costs corporate CEO's big money to include medical coverage in company salaries not to mention often lower middle class Americans end up broke when a family member gets cancer.

People with money in the US haven't trusted the Dem's since Jimmy Carter even if his speech that started the war on drugs won over voters on both sides yet Ronald Reagan was universally loved for his big government is the problem speech while slashing income tax rates against the top what was it top 30% or 40% of income earners

whereas in Mainland China simply having a 40 year old black and white family portrait photo of members of the Beijing family will get you killed. Or at the very least interrogated and tortured until the source of the black and white photo is revealed.

I'm going out on a limb here saying this but China is China and The united states of America is the good ol' usa because both countries leaders stir up patriotism by promoting rhetoric that the large working population of each nation have it the best in the world because both us and Chinese propaganda tells their respective citizens' they live in the best nation on earth run by the best system of government in the world.

Google American exceptionalism or the age old Chinese attitude Han Chinese are the master race which generally promotes views the Han as civilised and culturally superior

This current administration reminds me of how this nations giant gang of blueline cops
ruin / end so many lives

then when they get hauled into court in front of their cross dressing masters
they lie and get let off to fuck over citizens lives again and again

all in the name of this shit non transparent law they call
'qualified immunity'

Meta Platforms will let political ads on Facebook and Instagram question the legitimacy of the 2020 U.S. presidential election, one of several changes the social-media company and other platforms have made to loosen constraints on campaign advertising for 2024
