Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been placed on IR as he continues to experience pain in his foot.

That's a wrap. I'd say Cam's future in Charlotte will likely depend on how the rest of our season goes.
Fact is, our owner has bought into Norv Turner's philosophy. Cam was showing huge improvement in his throwing last year before his injury. It felt like it was going to work.
The bad news for cam is... his calling card is his athleticism. Norv's offense doesn't need athleticism. It needs an old school pocket passer. Someone who can be accurate in his passes and hand it off to CMC. So far Kyle has proven to be pretty good at that. There's a chance he could become great.
There's a chance it could all come crashing down, too.
If that happens, you've let your MVP qb go and now you're stuck for another year or potentially longer.
Objectively, placing him on IR was the right move. In either scenario. He either heals up completely and is ready next September, or he heals up and his trade value skyrockets.
I think the pack. That guy looks pretty bad ass. You guys are going to get a heavy dose of our two running backs and that should leave you Jonesing. I never like it when I'm on a the side of unanimous predictions.
