2017 Trump Presidency Thread

Not open for further replies.
When the segregationists, national socialists, and the other left (antifa) assembled in Charlottesville to protest, united in their support of the Democratic party and hatred of the Jews,

Really? Is this just a raging Poe I'm missing? I am out of practice, and it's even harder to know here.

Your dying to ban him swillow I can tell lol
He's not breaking any rules so let him post you fascist lol

Yeah I know. Ive changed my mind a bit about him. At first I thought it was a sick joke he became President at all but actually it isnt. Its perfectly normal and fine. Totally within the law etc.

Also his lack of experience and rough way of public speaking wasnt a big secret.

If he can get the economy rolling then thats what is needed. So yeah. Im not a blind supporter or hater of anyone anyway. Some people are and are just going to get behind their preferred polly whatever they do.

If that's the case, I am wondering what has Trump done to make the economy rolling? What has he accomplished?

Please nobody bite, I'm sick of this guy taking over topics constantly.

Just making a point. The irrational Trump-haters clung desperately onto Russians, then that fake news narrative died and now it's white supremacists.

It cannot simply be accepted that Trump won the election fair and square and is the legitimate, democratically-elected President.

Don't mind me though, please continue the topic of Irrationally Hating Trump 2017

No, I'm saying that its boring reading his constant posting about the same old shit. We had to create a Clinton thread for him even though it is close to a year since she lost relevance politically.

I don't really agree that that is all that is needed. To trot out a true favourite of the internet, Hitler got the economy rolling too and look how that benefited Germany. They were divided for nearly fifty years as a result.

In our system, a strong economy does not benefit that many people. The benefits are illusory and are basically the scraps from Lord Stark's table. Enough to make us imagine we are beneficiaries. Human rights, maintaining and strengthening them, are what will benefit the majority much more. Human rights will empower a population by allowing it to insist upon its rightful share of wealth. In capitalism, the lions share is accumulated by a few alphas. Us gazelles then thank them for not eating us. Great. :\

Anyway, is Trump really strengthening the economy? If so, with what policies?

Its not the only thing but it is the most important thing to focus on first. All this bullshit about Russia and now the fucking KKK etc is starting from America just loving stupid bullshit drama and taking attention away from getting on with the actual job of running the machine that drives the country.

And they said Obama didnt achieve anything? Lets see if Trump gets the same review at the end of his term.

But it's not boring for the billionth time to hear that Trump is stupid?
She still faces multiple open investigations and she is only relevant to people that care about the US judicial system operating effectively. You wouldn't want them to finally find evidence of Trump committing a crime and then have him simply walk free.

The job creation thing is a good start.

The economy is a very difficult thing to get consistently in growth and is always fluctuating so long term growth that is essential for any country can not be achieved in a short amount of time.

Some policies take years to show a noticable effect.

Job creation and getting more into the workforce is crucial to improve the country and all its conditions as a whole.

If the country is poor and no body has any money to spend and there are more people not supporting themselves then its so much harder to get anything else going .

People earning money spend it and this generates income to others.

Trump wants Americans to buy American.

He will have to do that by making American products competitive with cheaper inports.

Thats the bit that might upset people.

Yeah he wants to give big buisness and fat cats support and possible buisness tax cuts and make businesses more power to improve their bottom line and share prices. This is usually at the expense of workers by allowing changes to employment conditions.

Thats gonna hurt the average joe . Wage freezes, changes to overtime, increasing income tax...

But the number of jobs will increase and the flow on effect will take time.

When a country has a decent amount in govt coffers then they can decide about health care and other reforms a lot easier. On the other hand they could just screw over the tax payer and spend surplus tax dollar on shit they dont really need like more bloody bombs and defenses and wasteful perks politicians get .

So its too early to tell. In a couple of years it will be easier to see if hes revving up the economy enough to invest into the people.

mueller's investigation continues and it may be sometimes until we'll fully aware of the conclusions and consequences.

the narrative has certainly quieted as trump finds ways to blunder from one controversy to the next.

disliking trump is not irrational just because you can't understand it or don't agree with it.

alasdair

Disliking Trump is completely rational if it is for rational reasons.
Racist and Nazi doesn't quite cut it.

Mueller seems to want to dig through Trump's financial history to find anything illegal as all the smoke of 'election collusion' turned out to be just that.

yet again, until the results of mueller's investigation are made public, you don't know what he's determined nor what the outcome will be.

alasdair

Considering Mueller's people are taking out liability insurance in anticipation of lawsuits, I don't fancy their chances.

Here is an example of new liberals adopting communism. Funny world where a Russian teaches Americans about the possibilities that capitalism provides.

Report: Secret Service can't afford to pay agents to protect Trump family

The Secret Service can no longer afford to pay agents needed to protect President Trump and his family because of an unprecedented number of White House protectees and because of frequent travel, according to USA Today.

Your subtext is starting to sound pretty Republican, meth cat. Republicans don't do drugs, other than either top shelf martiinis or American-made beer, you know, like "Budweiser".

I never get to use the "true performance can take years to properly evaluate" line with HR. It's fair for a Pres. on the economy, but for him, he hasn't even proposed anything concrete, not even a tax break for milking baby seal tears to make the ice in their maritini shakers. (And I mean him/his office, not the standard republican platform in Congress--they're the ones who try to chew up Obamacare and push deregulation.)

He's merely an occupier of the office, tweeting from his bathroom where he finally gets privacy to speak public.

(Meth cat are you really apologizing for supply-side economics?)

I dont apologise for shit I didnt do.

I dunno if I would be republican or democrat but I vote labor in Australia usually because they are more about the workers and the people and the liberals are sly scheming bastards who prefer to put buisness first and tax the fuck out of the lower and middle class.

Keeping an open mind is pretty easy when not living in the affected country and not totally leaning one way or other . I tend to stagger around drug and alcohol affected like Boris Yeltsin. He was a funny fucker

Not even wrong..look it up ;)

Show me an example of where I insulted you and not your argument. I was being silly because I return like for like. You could also look up ad hominem too.

swilow, what a huge coincidence! I've already suggested that she look it up! :D

I like your suggestion that Liquid edit her posts and not clog up a thread as well, because it gets frustrating when she spams a thread with conspiracy theories. These posts cloud the message; however, add in responses to her chicanery, the posts showing her assertion that has been thoroughly probed as if by aliens, and the duplicate posts from her ilk, and your thread is completely choked for all to not read. :(

Liquid happened to my thread about voter registration and vote tallies getting hacked by the Russians with a debunked conspiracy theory about "Killary" (yes, she does). It got so frustrating that I reported the posts. Alas, my cries were unanswered. Then one day...

Interlude (Please remain seated. Seated! Merci.)

You see, I'm an American who has to work in the wake of foreign policy decisions of Trump, a man who doesn't know Israel is in the Middle East. I have to explain his election, his policies, and that my country isn't a joke to each reluctant government official in some shithole to allow me to improve their "health care" system with US$ and, say, a childhood vaccination program. It's hard and it can make one passionate. (No Liquid, I don't work for the CIA. Yet.)

End Interlude

We return to swilow...

Please spend some more quality time with Liquid and her eternal fount of dumbassery. Ah! No, you can't use your powers as a moderator. Now imagine that a heretofore absentee moderator heroically springs forth and justifies his existence by... scolding you for correcting Liquid's atrocious grammar- for the second time (the first was to look up ad hominem)- as "[t]otally lame" and an admonition to "[f]ocus on the arguments, not the superficial stuff please". Dude, this is BL, don't harsh my buzz brah!

Please PM from now on. People are talking and I am a lady.

Best, CD

p.s. Thank you for killing the pizzagate thread, which was unfortunately popular until you materialized. It was heinous.

You probably figured out that the libtard label goes with the left here.

But we had a big switch in the fifties and sixties on to today. Democrats used to be the rural (white, because those statues reminded non-whites they shouldn't try to vote if they knew what's best) redneck vote, and Nixon's ratfuckers managed to convince the Jug Ear Band set that the party that had always been about northern fat cats and railroad barons would embrace them, while the Democrats struggled to keep both labor and agrarian workers.

Then Reagan's ratfuckers told the evangelicals that it was in fact OK to mix Jesus and politics, and to do it with abortion. All republicans henceforth are anti-abortion, makes it easy to vote.

Then one of Nixon's ratfuckers got a TV gig, turned it into a media empire.

The republicans represent the 1%, routinely con 49%; Democrats look for their shoelaces, try to rep 99%, succeed with maybe 1%.

(If you're union-member labor, you would be registered Democrat. Like they'd treat you like a scab if you weren't.)
