Although the Liberal media would like to accuse Trump of personally discriminating against non-whites, there is quite literally zero evidence that can prove that claim. A very important piece of information regarding Trump's defense is this: He “accused the Justice Department of singling out his corporation because it was a large one and because the Government was trying to force it to rent to welfare recipients"
Trump's resorts/real estate are for the most part for the middle and upper-class Americans. It would be a healthy assumption to make that a conglomerate whose image deals with high-class, would not want to rent to welfare recipients, or to give the image of Trump real estate as low-income housing. You can argue against the principle of such a dynamic, but that's the perception/image you and I, and even the Liberal media, all associate with when thinking of the Trump Conglomerate. To further this...
“massive fleeing from the city of not only our tenants, but communities as a whole.”
The types of people you invite will not and would not assimilate well with the type of community you have as Trump tenants. I could go to the airport district here in California (not giving the name of my city, but the neighborhoods around the airport isn't the best, you don't want to drive there alone at night, put it that way) and take a couple dozen people, plop them into a gated community of higher-class families, and how well do you think that's going to end? I'll let you think about that on your own unless you're a sheltered child.
The company agreed to submit a weekly list of vacancies to the Urban League, which would produce qualified applicants for a portion of all vacancies.
If you aren't familiar with the National Urban League or Chicago Urban League, let me simply point out this is a "civil rights" organization that assists blacks with housing, jobs, etc. Why is this important? Have you ever seen Chicago? Are you familiar with the amount of murder and crime in Chicago? If I were Trump, I would be HIGHLY skeptical of such potential tenants, and I too would deny large portions of people from specific geographic demographics, whether it be New York or anywhere else. (yes, i'm aware this didn't involve Chicago, it's simply a glaring example of why applicants would be rejected)
Now, for those that assume all ethnic demographics are equal with regards to finances;
http://clacls.gc.cuny.edu/files/2014/01/Household-Income-Concentration-in-NYC-1990-2010.pdf in New York blacks are not the most wealthy demographic, let alone the most populous ethnic group in NY. One would assume automatically that blacks would have a lower overall presence in certain higher-income housing situations.
Overall, there was no evidence to conclude anything was racially motivated, and they were never found to be guilty of the outlandish claims.
