2017 Trump Presidency Thread

Status
Not open for further replies.
Nah, he's come to his senses hopefully.
The trump saga is a YUGE embarassment. Most of the world has written america off as a lost cause.
I sure as hell won't be travelling there while the dirty old man is stinking up the white house.

Reversing decades of social progress is not making anything great "again"

That's not an actual action. Your evidence was some story on Obama.
He has directed the departments of Justice and Homeland Security to review the resources they're devoting to fight trafficking, and arrests have significantly increased in number since he came to power. Expect them to continue to accelerate (but don't expect the media to give the stories much exposure).

Da, comrade, there's some suspicion there, not quite the way you mean though.
If you think there is more evidence that Russians flipped votes instead of domestic fuckery, then you're buying into establishment-sponsored conspiracy theories.

the FBI investigates him for treason.
Based on what? The crime of winning the election when he wasn't supposed to?

If I am, then you agree we need to lock up Colin Powell. Say it. Under espionage act blah blah sentenced to death just like KILary.
Do you have evidence that Colin Powell stored and sent classified information on an unsecured server? If you do, then yes he needs to be charged. Is this really that difficult for you to understand? Why are you excusing the crimes of Clinton simply because you're a fan of hers? We have indisputable evidence that she is guilty of these very serious crimes. Kinda ironic that Democrats are yelling about "protecting national security" by going after Trump yet they treat the Clinton-email matter like it is some right-wing political conspiracy. That just shows how clouded and delusional your partisan thinking is.

The uranium mine AM Radio talking points again, pre-election, debunked loooong ago.
No, not debunked. Hypocrisy at its finest. If Trump was found to have done anything remotely close to this you would be yelling about how it's the smoking gun that will lead to his impeachment. Stop lying.

Still not your guy, still not evidence of anything.
Fact: Loretta Lynch met with ex-President Bill Clinton on the tarmac while his wife was under FBI investigation (with evidence of her crimes). Are you one of the people that believe that all they talked about was "golf, grandkids and Brexit"??

And by the transitive property, that means all your politicians are also . . .
WTF are you talking about? If you are Sec of State and you do not know how to handle classified information then you should not be trusted in that position. Any sane person would agree with that statement. And therefore she was not the "most qualified presidential candidate of all time", unless you think our Presidents should be letting foreign hackers steal classified information. The fact that anyone can defend or deflect these actions is mind-boggling. Hillary-bots in action.

I guess that's the standard of "evidence" for the right. She used the "wrong" word somewhere somehow once.
lol, that's one way to put it..... James Comey, ex-director of the Federal Bureau of Matters

The Democrats going after Trump is beginning to backfire, and they are now getting exposed and investigated for their own nefarious acts.
Lynch is now being investigated as a result of Comey's testimony (where he exposed himself as a leaker when his job was to safeguard sensitive information). Thanks James, I knew you were good for something! (just not your job).

What the racist stuff? That's public record from back when he wouldn't rent to "coloreds". You know, when he went to court over it.
Oh like how he let anyone into Mar-A-Lago when all the private clubs at the time would refuse membership to blacks and Jews?

"They're not bringing their best. Rapists and . . . " And the crowd chanted and any one with a tan slowly went to the exit.
Not racist. It's normal (and expected as a Presidenti) to be anti-illegal immigrants, anti-violent crime and anti-rape. I quizzed you on this because I knew you would have nothing to say. You know why I know? Because he's not fucking racist. Did Romney say anything racist during his campaign? Why did Trump do better with minorities in the voting than Romney? And college-educated white women. Are colleges teaching our white women to be racist? Again, please offer proof as to how to Donald Trump is racist. Remember when Hillary Clinton called black youth "super-predators"? Now that is what I call fucking racist.

"Grab em by the pussy"
Are you a man? Have you ever had conversations about banging girls with your male buddies in private? You might not but I'll inform you that there is nothing out of the ordinary there. He was a billionaire playboy and celebrity before he got into politics. Honestly I'm surprised that is the worst they dug up on him. Also it is not sexist. Also he said "“When you’re a star they let you do it" which implies it is consensual. Are you going to blame women for being attracted to money and status?

Again someone I question cannot prove that Trump is racist or sexist. Also where the hell did homophobic come from? Because he was the only President that entered office LGBT-friendly. Hillary was still saying in 2013 that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. If you level these types of slanderous accusations at Trump, then Clinton must be some kind of demon-spawn.

They have nothing positive to contribute to society or political debate.

That's why ppl with your political ideology will always lose, because ppl of your ideology don't like hearing what you don't agree with, they don't listen and segregate themselves from opposing thought.

You have to always listen to both sides before you can come to a logical independent conclusion.

Don't sweat em' Meth, they've probably never heard of the term race baiting, never mind meeting an actual race baiting-shakedown artist.

I mean the man that shookdown Trump in that court affair didn't incite a riot that killed jewish people.....because of racial hatred....lmfao

Or get caught trying to sell cocaine on video lulz, I guess crack is only whack if you're not the one selling it.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, Trump is not only ineffective, he's a complete distraction to Congress. And Mike Pence would be our president with Paul Ryan, the architect of the currently proposed healthcare legislation, as VP. They might actually get things done. So as bizarre as it seems, I'm sticking with Trump at least until midterms and he'll become a lame duck and have rallies and sell hats or play golf or whatever.

America waits...

Nicely put!

lol, 'cause trump deals with criticism so gracefully. And his supporters too.
How many people have been stabbed, shot or killed by white supremacists since he came to office?
Hardly a polite or open-minded bunch of people, from what i've seen (which has mercifully been limited, because i don't live in the USA).

It's funny how trump only got elected because of some kind of electoral college thing i don't even understand, yet he boasts constantly of his massive support (biggest ever! trust me!), and got over a million less votes than his unpopular presidental election opponent.
It's all bullshit and blundering braggadocio with him. It's painful to watch.

He also has the biggest popular opposition building against him - as president - in american history.

But people with my political ideology will always lose?

Righto mate :D

"I don't know why you'd think this is a Trump-bash thread" *inserts snide Trump bash* lolol I see what you did there...
if you're going to just label anything which doesn't praise the president as trump-bashing, it makes it hard to have a conversation. but i'll humor you...

i claimed the president seems unable to accept any criticism whatsoever. you say i'm bashing him so please make your case for the president's ability to handle criticism in a manner consistent with his office?

perhaps a few examples of his accepting criticism well would be a good place to start?

alasdair

Mx. Liquid also would like to kindly remind everyone, if you're going to bash, and you must, the correct and most obvious target is KILLary anyway, if you don't think so, you've clearly been consuming far too much "liberal media".

You do realize SHILLary is still out there, not locked up still, "absolved" by ex-AG Lynch, scaring the poor campers in the New England woods?

No but he and his supporters did invade a dying political party...to victory, which means his supporters and staff had to listen to endless oppositional thought.

That is hilarious, thank you :D

You would be surprised

He had a literal silent majority that on national average was more popular and resonated with more voters versus focusing solely on the concerns and personalities of major cities.
The reason we have an electoral college is to try to be as fair as possible so that the very polar opposites that come with major city vs. rural can be as equal as possible.
She won the popular vote by focusing on overpopulated major cities that are on life support with major problems that democrats don't want solved with austerity measures, her voters/base just wanted more free shit and more disproportionate power.

He also has the biggest popular opposition building against him - as president - in american history.
After the last 16 years it's refreshing

The word "pyrrhic" comes to mind.
Luckily his approval ratings... um... all the campaign promises he has fulfil... errr... Melania has joined the man she loves for who he is! Proof!

Is "oppositional thought" like "alternative facts"?

Scrofula: Don't forget "Crooked Hillary"!

Well I'm convinced. Let's stop investigating Mr. Emoluments and ignore the "red" flags (it's a Russia pun) and instead spend taxpayer money on investigating the Clintons about things that have already been investigated until you are satisfied and they are long gone from this earth with that not-racist Jeff Beauregard Sessions at the helm. Chelsea is probably Deep State by now too. Let's throw Colin Powell in there as well, but NOT because he's black. Sad! Fake news! Great!

I'm confused about what I believe now. Not!

The reason we have an electoral college is to try to be as fair as possible so that the very polar opposites that come with major city vs. rural can be as equal as possible.

Almost, but nope: it's another compromise between North and South, to get them to ratify the constitution (biggest mistake of our "Founding Fathers"?) There were so many more "people" living in the more temperate north, the south objected to fair representation, and both got 60% of their slaves to count for census purposes and House seat appointment and a 2/state Senate.

It was explicitly unfair. Of course, the people didn't elect the president either. No US citizen has the right to vote for President. The "electors" can be chosen anyway a state feels like. So really, that's where the jive b/n the college system and the present comes in. We STILL don't actually vote for President, it's just all states now demand political parties appoint electors based on a popular vote, usually, but not always, in a winner-take-all manner.

So, we effectively vote for president, it's just that a person in North Dakota's vote is worth three times mine in California (I did the math months ago based on registered voters and it's just under 3, but I don't feel like digging those numbers up again).

SO DAVE: your fair and equitable system is actually worse than the slave compromise. A single slave in North Dakota would be worth two California votes.

I'd also challenge your "polar opposite" assumption as being the nature of a rural/urban divide, especially in the 1770's. The current "divide" is part of Lee Atwater, Nixon's Southern Strategy, civil rights-era turmoil, AM radio, and the late Roger Ailes.

ETA: and makes no sense, considering all states contain both rural and urban areas anyway--and in fact a huge state like California has millions more rural voters than North Dakota, what with our entire mountain range to ourself, and a desert even, and shit, I don't even know what all's up there north of Sacramento. Other than another six hours still to get to Oregon. And a lot of weed. And loggers. Meth. I bet there's some meth to be found on that I5 corridor.

Nope, ppl in America tend to have different views and opinions on how to best run this country.

Facts are facts........and thoughts are thoughts!

What year is it?
Things have evolved since the 19th century...

Let's stop investigating Mr. Emoluments and ignore the "red" flags

He has never been under any official investigation sense taking office...so we will, in fact I can almost bet all muh russia is going to is put Bill's wife and her minions in jail due to the very likely fact that her illegal server to do shady most likely illegal side bushiness deals was hacked by everyone...including russia.

That's why CNN and MSM are bad m'kay?

If anyone needs to 'provide proof' that Donald Trump ran his campaign on fear, hatred, racism, sexism and Islamophobia, then I'm not Cream Gravy?

Seriously, if you can't see it, you're dumber than a box of rocks. You can support the man all you want, but please accept what you are supporting. Stand up for your hatred, I thought that's why y'all voted for Trump yeah? So you can stand up and shout, "I HATE!!!!"

^ Yes we require proof. If you can't prove your claims then you should STFU and stop making them.

Because most hysterical Trump-haters who I sit down and probe end up with no argument at the end of the day. They just revert back to emotions and name-calling.

He gets criticized by millions of people every day. In fact as a public figure he has been criticized his whole life. If he "couldn't accept criticism" he would just spend all day replying to the thousands of crybabies that leave nasty messages on his Twitter. Your claim is ridiculously vague and at the end of the day, irrelevant. He is working with officials to enact legislation and those officials are offering him constructive criticisms which he takes on board. Some people have no idea how government works or they assume that Trump is doing nothing. These people are fucking idiots and are just still extremely butthurt about the election results, hence their inability to move on, instead just ignoring reality and claiming that Trump is "INCOMPETENT RACIST NUCLEAR HITLER IMPEACHMENT IS IMMINENT".

Sometimes he will reply to celebrities who level nasty attacks at him. So what? If you're going to criticize Trump, do it fairly. He has even stated that. He welcomes criticism, just be fair about it. If you're going to lie about him, then be prepared to cop an earful.

1. If he "couldn't accept criticism" he would just spend all day replying to the thousands of crybabies that leave nasty messages on his Twitter.
2. He is working with officials to enact legislation
3. ...those officials are offering him constructive criticisms which he takes on board.
4. Some people have no idea how government works...
5. ...or they assume that Trump is doing nothing.
6. Sometimes he will reply to celebrities who level nasty attacks at him. So what?
7. He welcomes criticism, just be fair about it.

At this point I have no clue how serious you are or if you're just a troll, but I rarely laugh out loud and this was great. :D
Thanks!

^ Exactly. My thoughts precisely.

The problem is how he responds to people. He does that in grotesque ways - not respecting the office of the Presidency. He's not fit for office, he was never been ready to be president and everyday he confirms he's not.

And no, people don't respond to thousands of crybabies because they accept criticism from nasty messages, he doesn't do that probably because of the same reason Justin Bieber doesn't. You claim that OP's message was ridiculous when you have yourself posed as a weak apologetic with very childish arguments imho.

hahahahah.....respecting the office of the Presidency... gimme a fucking break with that ignorant, hypocritical bullshit.

What's respecting the office? Enacting legislation that further strips all of our rights away? Conducting illegal interventions overseas and funding head-chopping, terrorist mercenaries? Slapping sanctions on countries resulting in the deaths of millions of their innocent women and children? That's what I'd call grotesque. If you got a problem with his bad language then stay in your room and turn the TV off.

Oh wait sorry I forgot. As long as you give nice speeches full of flowery bullshit then everyone thinks you're a good President that respects the position. Wank wank. Anyone who actually falls for this shit would easily fall under the spell of a successful psychopath. Educate yourselves.

"Your arguments are childish!" *refuses to refute the arguments*

For the record I used to despise Trump. I formed my opinions of him via the media and I thought he was racist. I was wrong. I can admit that. Here's an analogy: if you have a boss of the company that you work for who is a bit of a cunt with an abrasive personality, but he's doing good things for the company and genuinely aims to improve conditions for the employees - then who cares if he's a cunt or isn't the most eloquent person in the world? I couldn't care if he was a stuttering dyslexic as long as he has compassion and aims to do good. Get over it crybabies and start viewing the situation objectively. I know it's hard with the Liberal media forcing conspiracy theories down your throat 24/7 but I have faith that y'all can extricate yourself from all that BS one day.

*waits for character assassination directed at Trump by snowflake brainwashed by identity politics*
