^Well, obviously…
and as a obiter, I love it when capitalists start responding to that with science fiction about becoming an intergalactic empire (or at least, you know, conquering mars); where even if it happens, and I think it won't, the demand for resources is too great on Earth already and asteroid mining and otherwise getting the resources by probably will just takes too many terrestrial ones—this is a good place to add my opinion on Trump wanting to put a man on the moon again, or even Mars, during his presidency: it's dumb—but the ideal blankly stated is basically to fuck up one planet and move to the next, like those years when I was doing essentially the same with subletted apartments while being a junkie fuckup. Which, of course, is what global capitalism basically is, mainlining national resources and human lives. But whatever. I digress, significantly.
As for on topic Trump stuff —
Personally I am very upset about the ignominious and disgraceful firing of Preet Bharara. I don't have a big problem with firing a bunch of Obama era DAs, he stocked DOJ with radically anti-police and other partisan and racialistic agendas, so although I know very little about other AGs/USAs in other states, I'm sure there were plenty who had it coming. And a clean sweep is not always a bad thing. However though Bharara was one of the genuinely good guys. A fucking paladin.
Very popular, almost populist in a certain way, made his way fighting Wall Street and politicians from both parties and fairly, I think; right now he has an investigation against our Mayor DeBlasio that I would be very angry and upset to see flounder and tank, despite personally being a Democrat I believe, but has investigated plenty of political corruption—and Albany is one of the "swampiest" State governments, period, both parties and representing the City and the rest, too. Also prosecuted successfully a number of large Jewish interests.
A very brave and honest man as far as politicians go. Not even really a politician, one might go so far as to say. And a potential mayor or beyond. Obviously Trump knew him from before in New York in the story is that he had assured him that he would have a job but suddenly turned around and stabbed him in the back. Why, who knows, Wall Street, Kushner and the Ziobist connection, some potential personal problem with his businesses—and Preet would definitely be one of the ones with balls to go after him. His are fucking steel and he was one of the good ones, at least in the USA (i.e. fed DA) role. This particular case definitely upset me ane I'm sure there are probably people in different states who feel the same way about their USA's but probably Bharara is one of the very highest if not the highest profile one, nationally for sure or even probably in their respective states/jurisdictions.
But good for him maybe. He came out of this by far and looking like the better man and a man of principle. He might turn out to become the mayor Spitzer did and I don't see him as the guy with a scandal about hookers or whatever that street can pull out to screw over.
NYT article about the man and his career.
