Frumious Bandersnatch
Present day sweden is not a good example of anything, unless you're a fan of rampant violent crime committed by unskilled migrants. Not only inequality. Countries in Europe like Sweden, Norway etc, have been doing great. They took more refugees than they had to but these people were not doing anything harmful to their new land. These people want a new home. When I visit some countries in Europe I see that they are doing great things for education, social programs, universal health. And doing better combating poor communities. You can still experience quality life among ordinary workers. Not to mention culture, arts, roads, trains. Real developed countries with young and clever politicians.
My point is that US is a great country with a lot of amazing people I use to live there and I know how great you can be, but not so much lately.
Like it was said above, "it would be easier to take his comments seriously if he wasn't part of the problem. if he was serious, he'd make his own companies' products in america and employ american workers. he's a hypocrite."
It sort of does imo, you brought up the fact that most low GDP states voted Trump, that seems to imply that the low GDP is due to the states being conservative. California would still have a huge economy if it were run by republicans. Just like the deep south would still have smaller economy if it were run by democrats.Sure, you can't take location out of the picture, but that doesn't really matter. First of all, people are able to move to areas with better economies. Cities are as large as they are because they are economic centers that draw people to them for work. Because of this, it is preposterous to suggest that all the liberal people in the major cities do not work. Also, while the people who are highly motivated to work leave rural areas and migrate to cities, all the less motivated people left behind compete for a limited number of jobs and therefore there face higher unemployment. By not moving to areas with better economies, these people are at least somewhat complicit in their own poor employment status.
