My feeling: We are fucked, as a nation! and the decline has been in progress for about 70/80 years.

I agree. And, FYI, big media has been publishing articles like this supporting the Clintons' campaign as partial payment for their de-regulattion of the media industry in the 1990s. This is litteraly why we only hear two viewpoints - corporatist republican versus corporatist democrat.
What happens to a country that no longer has a middle class and is ruled by the wealthy few?
Lol at North Carolina democrats thinking they will win the governor spot by highlighting the ban on perverts in the bathrooms. Transsexuals go to the bathroom you please, but if you got equipment you are not going in with our daughters, wives, etc. while North Carolina is being infiltrated by northern refugees from failed liberal states it is still a southern state with morals and common sense.
Not all transexuals have gone through or get surgery. If someone is peeping, taking pictures or harassing people there are already laws on the books for that.
The Democratic Party sure seems hell bent on making sure we show up to the convention with pitchforks instead of protest signs. The Nevada chairpeople had to flee the state convention out the back door last night under police guard after stealing the state back for Hillary.

Please God let Bernie pull a Nader.
As she continues to lose ground in head to head polls with Trump she'll increasingly be seen by the Democratic Party leaders as unelectable. Just wait until Trump starts really airing her dirt in a way Bernie refused to do. Her favorablity rating will just keep going down.
This is now happening and Trump hasn't even really gone after her. A slew of polls released this weekend by everyone from NBC, Washington Post, Fox, to CBS shows that Hillary Clinton's double digit lead on Trump has evaporated and Trump now leads. Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders still holds a double digit lead on Trump.

And it will only get worse. In all 3 of her past election campaigns for a public office Hillary Clintons poll numbers have never increased once reaching the general election. In fact they've decreased every single election she's been in. So while she smugly proclaimed on national tv 2 days ago that the race was over and she was the undisputed winner, I still fully expect the Superdelegates to turn on her in July and nominate Bernie Sanders. This is far too important of an election for the Democratic Party to risk losing when they have a candidate who is a sure bet against Trump in November.
