2015-2016 NBA - Looking to start a BL fantasy league!

I'm a Pacers fan. Wish they had a true four on that team. If so they'd be pretty good (in the east). PG looks back to form and George hill has been damn good. Monte Ellis hasn't done shit and seems disengaged half the time. Sucks that Myles turner broke his thumb. I know he isn't ROY material as towns/okafor probably will lock that up, but he is very athletic and a NEEDED rotational player for pacers when they play small which is all the time.

the NBA has ruined fundamentally-true basketball for me

not picking on you but i literally have no clue what people are watching. really i think people just say this blindly and dont know what to really look for, not saying you do because you have your opinion just like i do but really this reputation is absurd. dunking is the easiest way to get a hoop, more can go awry on a layup so just because one looks nice and fundamental doesnt mean its more effective...you dont have to tomahawk it and scream like a psycho like Russ Westbrook does every time(although i would prefer they all did lol)

these guys are coached at the highest level by the cream of the crop. nba coaches are no joke and theres sooooo much more to the game than what you see on tv. every single player in a half court nba set have multiple "points" to hit as my aau coach used to term it, each point is a timing mechanism which sets off another point and so on, its not just random picks trying to get open like we play on 2k. it takes a great basketball MIND to even survive as a player in the nba on certain teams, of course there is a big drop off once you get down to the bottom 6-10 teams in the league but thats mostly inexperience/no chemistry/bad system for roster/players not coached to strengths, could be a million reasons why they are so far away but the vast majority of NBA teams are incredibly sound fundamentally. dont let the freak athleticism fool you.

so really i think all these 6'9 monsters who run the floor with guards is whats ruining your vision of what fundamental basketball should be

Rockets canned McHale today. Kinda shocked, 11 games in and he just signed a three year extension last year. That's some solid "what have you done for me lately" lording coming down from the owners

I'm a Pacers fan too, and i'm not impressed at all with what they've done this offseason. Obviously, as most people know on this forum, Roy Hibbert is my one and only. Seeing him go has really taken out a lot of my interest in this year. And not only that, but they get rid of their leader in David West who was my second favorite behind Hibbert.

Also, for years and years I've thought Monta Ellis has been overrated as fuck. Dude plays zero defense and his offensive game isn't anywhere close to making up for it for him to warrant a 4 year 44 million dollar contract. Weren't there any PFs in free agency we could have used that money on? then we could have shifted Paul George back to SF and put Miles playing minutes at SG.

I'm with you on Myles Turner, he looks like he's got a ton of potential from what I was looking up about him during the draft and then his great summer league.

It seems like they're in the transition of moving into an offensive oriented team and y'all know I'm all about that defense.

I've done an ESPN NBA Fantasy League before and it really makes things fun, so I wish we would have done one this year because I probably would have paid more attention to this years' games.

dude, I've always been a huge Roy Hibbert fan

and that's sayin' something cuz when he played for Georgetown he knocked off the Buckeyes in the tourney... but damn

LOL

still in awe that the Cavs beat the three-headed monster in OKC last night... with something like minus 3 starters (4 if you count Kyrie - who is COMING BACK)

man Dion Waiters is such fucking trash. so glad we got rid of him. nothing would make me happier to see him traded to Philadelphia to see him do something like 30 mins per game... nothing

Dion waiters is sick man idk how you came to that conclusion

He just has the mindset that he's the best player on the team when he's usually the 2nd or 3rd. But I wouldn't call anyone who's not better than KD or Westbrook trash, that's just most of the nba

meh, he was an active detriment to the Cavs. a big reason we started off so sluggish last year until we got rid of him

and is he that good? I don't know his average numbers this year, but the like 3 OKC games I've seen he has been absolute trash??

good thing im going to wake up a wizards fan

Arci im going to the Sixers / She Wolves game tonight

U gellin?

Yeah I am actually. Towns/Okafor will be a fun match up to watch. iirc Okafor won the last time they met

76ers are smart for trading for Ish Smith. Idk why so many teams keep cutting the guy when he's proven he can actually compete with starters in the NBA

new Kanye diss track on Nike:

I feel the same way after listening to any new Kanye song "damn, I wish he still sounded like old Kanye"

Suck it trebek

Towns is less impressive in person, heard it here first

I asked some hipster if I could buy a cig off him in the parking lot and he just went "sorry bro"

No "this is my last one" or "im running low"

Just, "sorry bro"

I wanted to drop that kid so bad but everyone sells lucys in philly just not douchebags who got their parent's season ticket packages

nice!

I too have been rudely turned down for a cig, when I asked for it, right after a home Ohio State Buckeyes football game

some old dude was huffin' n puffin' in the parking lot, and I've been flat out of cigs all day (and obviously couldn't leave cuz stuck in the stadium)

I walk up to old dude like "hey man, could I please bum a cig?" dude just looks at me, looks away in disgust, then doesn't even say anything while he literally briskly walks away from me??

will never forget - 9/11 status - how that pissed me off. even if a bum comes up to me and asks me for some change, and I don't have any, I look him in the eye like a man and say "dude I'm broke meso sorry"

Id rather the person just lie and say it was their last one or something, at least then I get fake closure on the subject.

It reminded me of the South Park movie where they walk up to the movie theater guy and are like "We'll have 5 tickets to Terrence and Phillip please!"

and the guy just stands there smiling and goes

"No!"

Something about this kids face, I knew he was gonna be a douche about it before I even asked him. And it was after a rare victory too.

I should have known he was gonna be difficult when I saw he was wearing a Kyle Korver jersey
