2012 (i know , i know..)

Okay.

So by now everyone knows about the 2012 "doomsday prophecy's" , eveything from the Mayan calender , Terence McKenna , I Ching , Time wave's, Nostradamus etc
has been brought up in this "doomsday" discussion.

Okay , so there is a a heap of superstition we know that much , but is there any logic behind the 2012 doomsday prophecy? , i mean factual evidence to suggest we are all going to die.

Some of the superstition is that instead of the end of the world , its more so going to be a changing event for mankind , yet i dont understand how anything could change mankind's current persona
i mean some people are so skeptical that if god does exist , you could put god right infront of them and they would be like "pfft siff your god , jesus i gotta get more of these shroom's from last night"

So oppinion's people?? do you think we are all going to die?? or do you believe that change is due in mankind?? or do you think this is all superstition crap that everyone should ignore??

Interested to know everyone's oppinion's and keep this a logical thread with facts whether it be about a superstitious theory or factual evidence , however dont be afraid to say your opinion.
 
Read about the Mayan calender, you'll see that it doesn't actually end in 2012. The Mayan counting system for years is base-20 and so their grouping of years, centuries, etc is different than ours. 2012 is the end of their equivalent of a century, after which a new one begins.

Look up the Mesoamerican long form calender if you want to understand it more. All these theories about 2012 are really strange considering how easy it is to research the Mayan calender.

yes i have pisspot , but the whole NWO stuff seems abit far fetched , i mean its not hard to believe that there is people behind the curtain's pulling the strings but the amount of shit people
try to link the "NWO" to in vids just overwhelm's me and causes me to think its far fetched.

i have never been able to understand people like that. Why not believe in god or religions as a means of exercising your mind and reawakening the sleeping parts of your brain. I mean its pretty obvious what happens when you fall into the machines of countries economies.

This remark is always brought up in "doomsday" discussion's , however if we have learnt anything from "the boy who cried wolf" its that just because half the time its "fake" or "un-true"
doesn't mean it will be the following time , as i said in a discussion in a different thread yesterday , its idiotic to rule out any possible factors in all factors of life.

The belief in the "New world order" is growing in popularity , but you guys MUST admit that there is as much crap as there is truth's in half the doco's regarding the "NWO"
a good part of the theory is based on assumption , im not saying that there isn't people behind the curtain's controlloing the string's when there is owner's of oil company's these days that have more $$$$
than all of the countries in the world individually and we all know money = power.

In the case that these people are correct in their assumption's and linking the fact's , not knowing what the intentions are of these people behind the curtain's , is a very scary thought
it means that power is taken from the people yet they are given false belief , it means the grounds upon what the western civilization strives for (Freedom) is being stripped from the people
with no regard , which would have to lead you to believe that the intentions of these people can't be in the interest of the people. in any case , if this was all blown into the spot light
we could have a modern revolution on our hand's , something that would only add to the current crisis of the world what with all the economic plunge's each country is being put through
in the end there would be to much chaos.

I think the next year could bring some major changes for the world but that's already been going on.
I don't think 12,21,12 is going to bring some apocalyptic dream to life but I DO think we are entering into the Age of Aquarius and will be in it next year- I think we will be changing the way, which will and is taking a long period of time, we think of religion and life in general. I think there could be a shift in the mind set of most people but I don't think we're all gonna die ;)



I got a chuckle out of the republicans comment. hehe

I dunno, I was kind of worried about it at first. Mainly because of history channel shows and such. Well, I asked my friend what he thought and it made me kinda forget bout it.

"Dude, the miyans were cavemen, how the fuck are they going to pridict the end of the world? It didnt end in y2k and its def not ending in 2012"
 
ok ill admit i love laying around on a sunday night, late at night watching reruns of ancient aliens [gotta love it]. than i cant fall asleep, toss around for an hour or two, get stoned again and be so relaxed and my mind can just divide all those easter island egyptian conections into some idea that the grey aliens are well nothing good. but still its fun to imagine.
