England beat Brazil at Wembley and drew in Maracana.

England > South American football > Spain

Yes I agree

oops the same England that are struggling to qualify for the world cup
Argentina are already pretty much there

They say you can only beat what is ahead of you

In that case England are the same as Macedonia right?

Last team to beat Brazil was England, Last team to beat Spain was England .. woop oh no we are still poop :( miles behind both these teams, but its delusion that carrys me on ha

I have to say, Hulk isnt really anything to talk about is he all hype

I used to be a big Hulk fan when he was at porto

I can see him being good in the premiership in a 4-2-3-1
No place for him at chelsea though cos Mata/Oscar/Hazard would be the "3"
Where would he get a game?

I can still see him doing a job in England, his game suits it and he has a wicked shot

And Australia are there before any of them? So what? It all means nothing. Just like this tournament means nothing along with 3-0 friendlies in Buenos Aires.

Brazil won the confed cup in 2009 too and couldnt get past 1/4s at WC.

I'm going for the Argies to win the WC

This tournament means a lot to south american teams.
They see it as a chance to get " one over" on the Europeans

Uruguay were basically crying when they lost to Brazil in the semi, its a small country of 3 million and they have massive pride in these kinds of tournaments

They got there cos Fifa fixed the qualifying now

In old days they had to play the 5th placed South American team and more often than not they were not good enouugh, ie when they lost to Uruguay in 2002

Now Fifa wants revenue and they have to have australia in the world cup to access a new time zone and the demographic that comes with it

Why else do you think " tahiti" were in the last confed cup? its cos aus dropped out of oceana and new zealand lost in the semis

I can see Germany doing better than Spain At WC but neither of them will be winning it. Slightly worried about Germanys striker options though. Good goalie, defence and midfield but upfront i'm far from convinced.

Brazil/Argentina final would be the fookin tits

Get your money on Belgium , had them at 22-1 now they are 13-1

Best lock for a european team to win it
Do NOT be surprised if BELGIUM are the non south american team to win the world cup

My smart money is still on Brazil, but wouldnt be surprised if Belgium make the final, they are that good now

Just take a look at Belgiums squad its IMMENSE

Belgium team/squad

Courtois/mignolet
Vermalan
Kompany
Lombearts
Van Buyten
Witsel
De Bruyne
Dembele
Eden Hazard
Fellouni
Defour
Lukaku
Benteke

JUST WOW

A team like that CAN beat Brazil/Argentina/Spain

That Australia & Tahiti stuff is really shady and disgusting. A guy that climbs trees and cleans coconuts for a livinf was playing in the confed cup

Belgium are 18/1 on Paddy powers site. Good bet, yes really great squad

Argentina to win WC & Columbia at 25/1 for outsider team for me

I wouldnt mind ARGENTINA They always have the talent but they have stupid coaches and no goalies

the last coach they have is not picking ever banega and some of the amazing young domestic talent like Cirigliano or funes mori and for some reason he wont pick lucas ocampos either

for a nation that produces so much outfield talent their goalkeepers are cack as well

One of the things I dislike the most about English football fans and media is their ability to HYPE. Are you serious dude? Come on, how many of those players would walk into the Barca, Bayer, Real first XI? Spain has tons of talented players coming through the U21 and Argentina have one of the strongest attacking forces on the planet. Some of those Belgian players you mentioned are good, a couple even excellent but most just average. Over-hyped as they play in "SKY-sponsored best league on the planet".

Obviously in football anything can happen, Spain lost to Switzerland in the last world cup, but if the teams you mentioned are in form, there would be no contest

The only players I recon could have a chance of being called up for one of the major sides in Europe are Hazard, Courtois and Kompany. The rest are distincly average. Perhaps Wistel and De Bruyne, which I both like.

Lukaku is still largely unproven, Benteke looked good but in an almost relegated Aston Villa side. Fellaini is vastly overated and a bit of a bully.

I really don't get the hype for Belgium. No chance they're better than Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and probably even Portugal.

Kenny the thing is Belgium can play as a team. Yes that may not look like a bunch of players who would get into Barca but most top clubs in Europe would love those players. You must have seen the 4-2 win over Holland. Argentina will be the same as always, good going forward but look at their backline. They havent had a decent defender since walter samuel in his pomp Colllocinni is always injured and Zabaleta never rated him although Garay is decent enough.

They will do the same as usual and look great going forward then then come up against a half decent team and lose like in 2010.
Belgium could beat argentina now. Kompany and Vermalen would walk into Argentina's backline
Actually so would Vertonghen

So it's Belgium atm is it TLM . I seem to remember you saying how Uruguay were the ones , might not even qualify . Kenny is right it's all fukin hype & this 24 hr news coverage means that the press have to have something to chat about all the time .

No disrespect mate you are a passionate guy & i like that .

Kennys got a point though

Some of those Belgian players you mentioned are good, a couple even excellent but most just average.

But thing is Brimz look at the current Brazil team

How many would play for Barca?

Marcelo
Luiz
Neymar
Alaves

thats about it
Would Oscar get into Real madrid ahead of Ozil ? Not sure

no way someone like Fred, Jo, Hulk, Gustavo get into barca on current form

Footys a team game innit, Scolari is a crap club manager but he takes average teams ( or so the english call them average brazilian players) and manages to thrash teams like spain.

I love Uruguay cos i am a football romantic, they punch way above their weight in world football , thats why I really want to see them do well, really hope they make the world cup as this last tournament has proved this nation of 3.3 million can hld its own against Italy and Brazil

I always laugh when the english media say how many players of xxx country would get into the england team

I dont give a toss how many would get in, all i know is that the 11 brazilian players last night as a collective team put in a better performance than england and their "superstars and golden generation" have as a team in the last 20 years

No doubt the english media call this the most average brazilian team in years.

well they won last night and if england had beaten spain 3-0 those same cockgobblers would be calling england the best team evernot an " average team" like the english press were calling brazil for most of the last 3 weeks

On another note 10 years of Abramovich what's your thoughts ?

IMO when Abramovich took over Chelsea they ceased to exist as the football club they had been. All of their success and achievements since seem completely empty to me. I have no idea what even the most blatant glory seekers see in them, there's nothing there. No story, no relevant history, nothing. Just some guy with a massive wallet buying the league.

They might as well have moved the team for all the relevance their new era has to the old. The supporters seem happy enough though, I'm not sure how I'd feel if it happened at West Ham - happy enough but at the same time detached? I don't know.

It does seem to have become the new benchmark for dream scenarios among supporters - move to the OS so the crown prince of an oil rich nation can buy us. That seems to have been Abramovich's biggest impact, raising the bar for what is an acceptably rich benefactor - one who can spend billions without breaking sweat it seems.

Abramovich is a large part of the reason as to why football is so shit. He created the trend for billionaires to use football clubs as extensions of the ego or become the faces of multinational conglomerates.

His willingness to pay whatever it takes to secure even the most inexperienced and tenuous potential and the fact he's also prepared to pay them whatever they ask has basically overpriced everything and everyone to the point of insult.

Nobody stands a chance whilst him and his imitators are allowed in the game and the fact he is involved, despite his chequered legal history, is further insult. The blueprint he has created at Chelsea should be made illegal and all clubs should be fan owned to stop it from happening again.

Thanks Roman, you downs looking, mouldy bearded toss pot, you fuked it for the rest of us.

Romance TLM is that what you call this ?
