2011-2012 football thread

Glad I was in work for this one, kept updating, was even about to shoot out the door when i saw wed won and it was 2-1 at wastelands, next update on my phone 3-2 8o Couldnt believe it.

As a UTD fan you get used to winning, well be stronger next year and fergie will be up for a new challenge euroes to look forward to and then a new challenger, (hating city fans now more than lpool fans and thats something) competition changes but UTD will always be up there..

Either go out and sit with a load of city fans or sit alone and get pissed and listen to a load of city fans over the tinternet moan... the decisions.

Could be worse, could be Betfred and £500,000k++ down, oh well live and learn!

Normally I wouldn't be too disappointed about the fourth place. But unfortunately Abramovich's peace of dirt can make it worthless for Spurs. I don't care if Bayern wins by diving, cheating, getting wrongful penalties, Chelski getting clear goals disallowed, other wrongful referee decisions etc. as long as Chelsea gets raped in the UCL final. That would be triple pleasure; seeing Chelsea lose, not playing UCL next season and Spurs getting to the UCL play-offs.

Come on you Bavarians!

I fell out of love with the English top flight quite a while ago, so today that was ninety exciting minutes today through the high drama was directly proportional to the poverty of the football.

Like spurs would actually make any impact in the UCL anyway? I'll enjoy that they get their place taken away from them for a moment, but just a brief one (ill laugh more when they sink to mediocrity next season when theyre players leave and no one wants to join). A true waste of CL spot it would be.

Just been in the pub, never seen so many city fans in my life whats going on? Is it a chelseas second coming?? Anyway enjoy the moment live youve just won the champs league, small club, big attitude supporters, small impact, money....have fun.

Delusional gooner? Have a far superior squad to yours that will only be strengthened over the summer, especially considering you're going to lose the player that has controlled your season. We had our worst ever dropped point streak, 6 points in 11 matches, yet you only managed to finish 1 point ahead with an equal goal difference? And you mention a lack of impact in the champions league, I believe in the 1 season that Spurs featured in the CL, we reached the QF (something you haven't done for 2 years) and knocking out the team you failed miserably against this year, while missing numerous key players...

Keep clinging onto your recent history, very soon it will be all you have..

Well youve got one major thing wrong there buddy. I support the glorious team that will displace spurs from their CL spot after a win in Munich next weekend. I just dont like Tottenham. Finishing ahead wont matter, its not like RDM went all in at the end, so no need to bring that up.

(hopefully this unnecessary cockiness will be validated)

He's a dead man walking. United are lucky he changed his mind 5 years ago, but if the Glazers don't give him any money this Summer they are going to struggle. They will probably give him the swan song at the end regardles of results out of loyalty. The Americans just don't have the Russian ruthless streak.

Fucking LOL. I was going to say the same thing.

For the Prem i think i'm gonna go with Man City for no other reason than to piss of Man Utd fans and i think they have some great players Aguerro et al also i like their manager , one of the best players i 've ever seen.

yeah not bad prediction if i do sat so especially the Aguerro bit always knew he would play a huge part in the season !

Oh and ican't find it atm but i'm sure that i said said that Ramalde Falcao the ex FC POrto striker would be one of the best buys of the season .

That turned out true as he scored 33 goals including 2 in the Europa Final that sank the Bilbao team that everyone has been getting excited about this season .
I had money on him scoring 1st and Atletico winning .
Bilbao have done well but Atletico with Simeone in charge were just to much for them tactically and individual talent .

Play off final at W/E got to be the hardest game to watch if you support one of the teams i still will though.

Tottenham made it to the quarter finals in the UCL 2010-11. I definitely think that's an "impact" for a team that's playing its first season in the UCL (in its present format). Chelsea's been good in the UCL this season, sure, but they finished sixth in the Premier League. A team that finishes sixth shouldn't have any business in the UCL, but the winners of the final do deserve an automatic place in next season's UCL. But taking the place from a team that's been better in the Premier League is what would piss me off. Otherwise I'd have no problem saying Chelsea deserve to be in the UCL next season, as much I dislike them.

To say they didnt make an impact is utter shit-talk. Spurs were brilliant in their first CL last season. Finished top of a tough group, beat Inter home and away and beat Milan in the knockout(Plastics squeezed past Copenhagen) and were beaten in the 1/4s by good Real Madrid side.

Unsurprisingly we've only heard from the Chelsea fans here all year is when they made 2 cup finals8o. Lets see on Saturday if they still have the same amount of CL/EC titles as Spurs even after all the billions spent.
