Before I leave this thread I'd just like to consider why people say one thing in private and then communicate in a totally different tone in public. This happens a lot with football fans, who seem to like to convey one sentiment publicly (presumably to appease their peers and to antagonise other team's fans), but who then attempt to pass off their bile as humour and banter in a private chat with another club's supporter.
For instance, Bogman's sarcastic dismissal of me above (what he wants you to see) contrasts heavily with his much more amicable and concilliatory tone conveyed to me via pm (in yellow), illustrated below along with my reply (in red)

you can check thru all my posts and you will see that im only takin the piss and having a laugh.
ye i dont like your club, never have never will but most of my mates are scousers. belive it or not but a liverpool fan texted me that joke.
I get that, dislike man u too but have a begrudging respect
I just can't stand the disgusting racist jibes (there's enough bad blood without pouring petrol on the fire) , just as bad as Hillsborough or Munich jokes imo, turns my stamach
I don't know Bogman and I'm quite sure he's a reasonable kinda guy irl so I'm not getting at him per se, just using this to illustrate a strange phenomena. Why say one (reasonable) thing in private and one (sarcastic) thing in public? Odd.
I've been a Liverpool fan since the first game I attended, the 1974 FA Cup final. During that time I have been to many Pool v Man U games. I've put myself at risk for berating scum Liverpool fans singing the munich song and have felt physically sick from hearing scum Man U fans sing about Hillsborough (a match I would have been at had I not been in hospital at the time).
In all fairness Man U are worse in their abuse than Liverpool, although I recognise it exists on both sides. Liverpool abuse Man U when we play each other. Man U abuse Liverpool in every match they play regardless of the opposition. Bizarre. I find the whole rivalry-turned-to-hatred thing appalling tbh, especially when you consider the fact that the fans of both clubs have so many clear similarities.
Rivalry, banter, humour, dislike even - great, no worries, let's roll.
Hatred? Not so good eh?
We all know the racist thing has been blown out of all proportion ( a little intelligent research will illustrate as much) but we all love a good bandwagon eh? Liverpool is one of the most friendly and unprejudiced places on the planet. I have been to Anfield more than 150 times and have never heard one single racist remark. People who wanna 'joke' about this are just as bad as the Munich and Hillsborough 'jokers' imho..
It's not fucking funny - will you be laughing when the 'joke' results in somebody being hurt or worse?
Peace Out
