200mg morphine to oxycodone conversion questions

Hey I do 80mg of oxy a day. I've been doing that for a year now and never have taken a tolerance break. I have on occassion used other things i.e. heroin, dilaliud, etc. But i usually stick with the oxy's and always do an 80 a day for the past year.

I just got 200mg morphines. What is the best way to injest them? I won't IV them.. Also, with my tolerance how many wud be equivalent to an 80 of oc?

200mg morphine SR/XR (extended release) or instant release?

Morphine has poor oral BA, in contrast to oxycodone, which has excellent oral BA. Because of this, snorting or plugging (rectal administration) are better ways to get the most out of your morphines, however, some extended release formulations of morphine are very hard to snort due to anti-abuse mechanisms. Take a look at the opiate chart in my signature for the conversion.

ORAL

Morphine 30 mg PO = Oxycodone = 20 mg. Going by that, 80mg oxycodone oral should be approx. 120mg morphine oral. However, individual variation is normal, your mileage may vary. If you wanted to get to the same place 80mg oxycodone gets you, I would shoot for 100-120mg morphine oral, and chew the tablet. Morphine is much more sedating than oxycodone is, similar to hydromorphone and should feel like heroin (heroin is just a morphine prodrug).

I don't recommend eating the entire 200mg dose at once.

Hmm.....lets see. I can take 20mgs of oxy & feel good & when I tried the 100mgs Morphine grey pills, I took 30mgs to get me good. When I take pain meds to get high, I dont take them to get retarded, just to get a good high going.

The conversion chart says you should take 120mgs of Morphine if you are taking 80mgs of oxy. I guess my dosage breaks down to that also.

LoL, you got here before me, haha! Also, Morphine is awesome & I like it better than oxy. Oxy keeps me up at night & morphine is sedating which I love.

^Your experience seems typical, TLB. I recommend starting at the lower end (100mg) to account for the possibility of incomplete cross-tolerance, although 120mg should be fine as well. As I mentioned before, morphine's effects can be quite sedating so don't expect it to be just like oxycodone. If you decide to snort the pills, I would start lower (closer to 100mg) just to make sure it works alright. I've had success chewing the abuse-resistant XR/SR morphine formulations even though morphine has a pretty crappy oral BA.

If you chew it, it will hit you faster.....when I chewed Morphine pills, it would hit be in about 10 minutes & peak in about 20 minutes. Keep in mind that what ever I take, pill form that is, hits me pretty fast compared to others.

It gave me a nice sedating high, first time I took it, I could hardly keeps my eyes open, haha! It lasts longer than hydrocodone for me, about 3 hours.

No one knows how much you should take to make you feel really good. I recommend starting with 100mgs, always take less & then you could add more after an hour or so.

Only way to get around sustained release it is by shooting up with a needle which I would never do & I dont recommend it.

IME 200 mg's of oral/snorted/plugged morphine equals ~80 mg's of oral/snorted/plugged oxycodone maybe 60 mg's of IV oxycodone

200 mg's morphine IV equals ~240-300 mg's of oral/snorted/plugged and IV'd oxycodone (number obviously varies with the roa and its b/a)
