2009 MLB thread! play ball...

the cleveland media's already discussing the idea of trading cliff lee and victor martinez, thus forfeiting the remainder of this season and the 2010 season.

we have some youth stocked in the catcher position. shoppach would be our go to guy the rest of this year and santana (who's a stud) should be ready to come up for next season. martinez would be a hot commodity for ANY team offensively. his defense leaves a little to be desired, but he's a leader in the clubhouse and has a wicked bat (was batting .403 as of yesterday). they're talking about bringing in some young pitching. truthfully, i'd like to see both of them stay, but i suppose time will tell.

jeeeeesus. words can't describe the indians' loss tonight. up 5-2 for the better part of the game. cliff lee pitched a gem then in the 9th, kerry wood comes in, gives up back to back homers, walks the next batter, gives up a triple, then a sac fly and KC wins it.

this is CERTAINLY not my feelings on a regular basis, but what a piece of shit team we have right now. it's not for lack of effort, they just can't get their shit together.

not the best way to avoid those panicked trade talks that have been brewing all day. i guess we're ready to call it a season... and it's still fucking MAY.

Words can not describe how tired I am of seeing Texiara and A-Rod line up perfection talks.

100 points to anyone who knows why.

Ugh. The fucking Cubs. Or should I say Schlubbs. Fuckin' clown shoes.

a bunch of yankees fans i work with - and one of my customers - wanted to bet on the game last night. with beckett pitching, i happily took their bets and collected with a smile on my face.

with tim wakefield pitching, it could go either way but, with wang on the mound for the yankess, none of them were too interested in another bet anyway :)

Its the one day they have a chance to win haha..ya he should defnitly head east

again, i bet with the yankees fans at work but this time on the mets series. i bet on the first game and we all know how that ended. i bet on the third game and we all know how that ended...

:)

johnathon sanchez just threw a no hitter!

you heard it here first! :D

btw, what a fucking catch by aaron rowan!!!! somehow i KNEW he would get to that ball!

wow the irony! the last MLB perfect game was thrown by randy johnson, the man who johnathon sanchez was replacing in the rotation tonight! granted sanchez didn't throw a perfect game, but the only thing keeping him from doing so was a single runner reaching on an error.

unbelievable! good for him!

west coast baseball doesnt matter, no one watches it

thats why tim lincecum will be gone after this year

blah, pitchers like lincecum transcend the organizations that draft them, THAT'S why they leave. sabathia's a perfect example, the guy was huge, picked by cleveland and developed in the indians' farm system. he grew bigger than cleveland could contain and we had to let him go, he became a rental player for milwaukee and moved on from there to NY. sabathia paid his dues to cleveland, but cleveland couldn't keep up with his progression. new york may not be the best, but it's at least it's a place where a talent like sabathia can breathe.

lincecum, should he leave, will probably be under the same circumstances.
