Just read about this. No idea where I'll be in 2009. I'm gainfully employed in Australia, a nicely compensated for at least the next four months, so the plan is to save like a proverbial Zionist and head overseas when income ceases. Narrowed it down to somewhere north of the equator. But 2009 is a very long way away.

Realistically it doesn't take that long to save money for a trip. People that want to go will go. Simple as that. No point in planning for something so distant in the not so foreseeable future. But for what it's worth, I'll try and be there.

My vote for location: Morocco.

the castle idea sounds fucking badass.

so then - in terms of organisation, because 20 pages is already getting far too long - what do we need to do?

list options for venue. so far it's looking like either amsterdamage or the zombiecastle(s), both of which are in mainland europe and easily accessible. i will edit the first post accordingly.

also we need to gang together and stop vibr8or from being allowed to enact her horrible vision of nightmarish things to come, because if i see her in that costume i might be forced to vaporise her with some futuristic weaponry.
 
Well, at this point we decide if this project is better served growing as a meme, or as a centrally planned event. My vote is for planned event. Planned events need leaders, preferably ones who could lay any groundwork at the site (harry if we did the castle).

I don't think a sticky in any forum is a good idea. I actually think the idea of a journal run by someone elected to supervise the project would work well, because it could be segmented at will, without the hard work of say, the best of thread we did in PD years back), and people will still be able to to comment publicly as comments in the entry (did we fix the "next page" problem in the journal yet?(we=chris :))). People interested in going can continue to remain interested by doing exploratory work on travel prices, how long this thing will last, timing to anything interesting (a music festival or large field rave thingie would be cool). The bluelight meetup could even be a dupe account with its own journal you could add.

We allow this thread to stay open, getting bumped the way threads do. That or we merge it with the noodie thread.

That way, prople have a place to check for important information, and the forum thread continues to function as an ongoing brainstorming session.
 
also, whoever we elect as meet up king will get to dress like this guy.

the castle idea is also fab. we were planning on moving to germany last year, and i found a few castles for sale. those would be easy possibly to get in contact with the owner for a rental. do they have any castles you can rent for a week??or would yall just want it for a full day, for the party, and then everyone sleeps elsewhere?

just to repeat for importance, we need to get deposits 6 months to a yr before from those who want to go....to get an idea on the number of participants, and also to assist with finances, and to cement them to actually go. it would be a lot harder to come up with over a grand at the last minute.

=D you do realize that I could only WISH to actually own a costume like that. my, the fun I'd have with the kids every time they lost a tooth and the zombie-fairy had to visit!!! unfortunately, that pic is just a random one I found online. :( But don't worry; my real face will be scary enough!!!
