Who cares about Joey Belle.
I'm more concerned with McGwire, Bonds, and Sosa all shitting on Maris' grave.
Let the 90's be known as the "* Era".

It's obvious that MLB actively looked the other way on steroids for over 20 years. If it's anyone's fault, it's MLB's. Caminiti was saying that the majority of the players were using it when he retgired three years ago. MLB did nothing about it. You can't implcate the players for breaking a rule that MLB never enforced in the first place.
And as for not caring about "Joey" Belle and "shitting" on Roger Maris's grave, Albert's career numbers are clearly superior to Roger's. Maris had one abberation of a season (everyone had great seasons in 1961 because of the expansion of the league and the schedule) and never came close to those numbers again.

Yes, you can implicate the players for breaking a rule that mlb never enforced. It's completely irrelevant that the MLB didn't enforce a drug policy. Steroids are illegal in the USA.
I don't agree. Athletes are going to do everything they think they can get away with so they can get a competitive advantage over their opponents. It's up to the sanctioning body to enforce their own rules. What's the point of having rules if you aren't going to sanction the people who break them? Does it excuse the players for their actions? i don't think so, but i think the responsibility falls squarely on the lap of MLB and the MLBPA.
You said it yourself, baseball has become much more exciting since the beginning of the long ball. Do you think that baseball didn't know that?
