Misc 200 mg of Quetiapine

Patience is required with these medicines. I am deadly serious. Because the psyche is a whore.

You're better off with yours. Quentiapine, it'll give you a well-deserved nap. Just be patient!

This shit is stronger sedative the lower the dose https://psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/appi.ajp-rj.2022.180207. Also one of the worst off lable prescriptions they can give you, especially for sleep. The British medical journal declared antipsychotics more deadly than terrorism. I'd suggest anything else. Doxylamine is fuckin horrible for you, but still leagues above this poison. I'd suggest try that, if 25 don't work, 50mg is an OK dose with that shit. With seroquel I'd recommend even trying 30mg and then maybe a 20mg booster if needed after an hour. You're taking a dose for psychotic mfs.

If you really feel you need to use a neuroleptic for the symptomatic treatment of certain psychiatric disorders, then it's appropriate to take them.

But I'm only too aware that neuroleptics are increasingly being prescribed off-label for a variety of reasons. I don't think insomnia is one of them.

Be very careful as these are not drugs to be consumed casually. The side-effect profiles can be quite nasty.

They definitely give seroquel for insomnia because of its better record in terms of abuse (over benzos and z drugs)

I understood that daridorexant, lemborexant and suvorexant (oxerin antagonists) are all licenced for the treatment of insomnia and AFAIK are supposed to have no abuse potential?

I do appreciate that all three are still under patent so I imagine a lot more costly, but quetiapine is actually licenced for insomnia?

In fact, the therapist prescribed to me Quetiapine to treat severe anxiety disorder, usually 50 mg make me more stable and feel free from anxiety along the day.
But 50 mg didn't help me to sleep, the insomnia can be very nasty sometime.

I'm shocked that a neuroleptic is licenced for anxiety. 50mg isn't a large dose but as far as I know it's the histamine activity that causes sedation so many nations still use old fashioned antihistamines.

100mg was too low for me. I had to get the dose titrated up to 300mg to get any clinical benefit. Only take it at night time though.

Have taken it twice, after stim binges

25mg knocked me the fuck out both times, the second time caused some kid of 'seizure' where I became aware of everything in staggered 'snapshots' of awareness, like one moment was standing, next awareness was halfway to sitting, then on the floor etc. Like a succession of rapid mini-black outs, it had an 'electric' quality to the feeling too, kinda 'zingy'

Never again (shudders...)

I'm not sure about licensed... doesn't change that they give that shit out like candy. They give this sort of shit out for everything, even nausea and chlorpromazine. They (those in power) do not want you to think deeply. And yes, orexin antagonists are supposed to have an abuse potential akin to melatonin. I have a feeling there gonna just be the next benedryl for sleep. Not super useful but super accessible and better than nothing. They've also got a low ass ceiling dose iirc. I'm not hopeful they'll be great for insomnia.

Yeah, I was looking for a less cultish rhetoric but there's not much way to avoid over-generalization without going into specific names and corporations that are ruining humanity (of which there are far too many to name).
yeah probs a good move as I reckon a good proportion of people switch off as soon as they hear/read the generic 'they' (with good reason thesedays as we know)

Ah I forgot that tiny detail, I got Quetiapine because he wants me to do a benzodiazepine withdrawal, before I was on Xanax and Valium, almost addicted.

Yes I know that's not very glorious, but I'm lost in my life I'm afraid.
