Im getting a 200mg morphine later on tonight and looked at some of the threads and heard about plugging ive always just snorted and orally taken pills...i used to be on the 80 oc ops id take 4 to 6 a day..just wondering how safe it is or if it will even work.

It'll work. Plugging is actually a good ROA that alot of people prefer, especially those who don't do needles. Read up on it though so you do it correctly. I never plug anything so I can't offer advice.

thanks, I read up on it a little theres a few different ways that i found..1: crushing it up and loading it into a gelcap then putting it up there 2: crushing it up an puttin it in water and use an enema but i dont know which is better and safer.

I would say dissolving in water and squirting it up there would be much faster and more effective than a gel cap.

The bioavailability difference between plugging and shooting is small in comparison to the difference in safety of the two ROAs. If you haven't already impaled your self on the spike, please don't start now. That road leads to some dark places. Just have a look around the IV complications or personal addiction stories threads over in OD.

I really, really, really don't want to encourage someone to do something they're not comfortable with, but seriously, plugging ? Mate, find someone who knows their shit, get fresh worx and main-line. It's the only way to go. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Think about it: if an ambulance is called to help someone in pain, or a doctor/nurse at a hospital sees a patient in pain, they give them painkillers IV. You don't hear a doc go "quick, grind this up and inject it up ya butthole, stat!" I'm really not trying to be provocative, but if you're mucking around with oxy or morph or fentanyl or whatever, you come that far - go a little further and do it right.

No, no and no.

Never ever recommend someone IV something. Terrible harm reduction advice. IVing is the most dangerous ROA one could choose.

Clearly you're new here.

Plugging is one of the safest ROAs and it's BA is only second to IV. The difference between the BA of IV and plugging is extremely minimal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with plugging. Doctors don't plug drugs for patients in emergency purposes because suppositories are not typically used in ER settings... IV is almost instant and something plugged will still take 5-10 minutes to kick in, which could mean life or death in an ER.

I plug regularly, just about anything that is worth it. No, I'm not gay. No, it's not uncomfortable. Once you get the hang of doing it, it takes a couple minutes to do max.

Crush up whatever pull you have into a fine powder (I use a black ramekin), add desired amount of water (2-5ml IMO), stir well and then plug. At first I only used a 1mL oral syring (which worked fine for MXE), but I now use a 5mL syringe. Neither cause any discomfort really.

don't suggest someone IV especially ER pills they gel up most of them anyway and that could kill you if you inject it i wouldn't plug it either though snort it

Did you ever stop to think that just maybe he does not want to add the spike to his list of problems? The reason why they give you morphine, dilaudid, fent, etc IV for acute pain is because acute pain needs to be treated ASAP. Even in hospital settings they will often use IM injection instead of IV unless you need instant pain relief.

To the OP: I have been using morphine for 7 or 8 years now on and off well mostly on. I have had it orally, snorted, in suppository form, IM and IV. I take it orally everyday for chronic pain and to be honest it works fine and even though i have been IVing hydromorphone and morphine (mostly dilaudid though) i can still get high off taking it orally. Sure you don't get the rush from IV but it lasts alot longer. Snorting it has a lower bioavailability then oral use so don't bother with that. I think rectal BA of morphine is the same as the oral BA and i never noticed a difference between the tablets and suppositories myself in terms of potency. Except i couldn't throw up the suppositories :\ . But some people swear by it so i would say either take it orally or plug it.

I would say just make it into instant release and take what you normally would with your tolerance

Just pop it, morphine ers suck. It you snort it it will gel up your nose, if u plug it it might gel in your ass

I find it strange that this site appears to frown upon "encouraging" someone to do this or that. I am a great believer in harm-minimisation, but I'm also a realist. Is there such a forum where, with the exception of bullying and flaming or whatever it's called, anything goes?

^ No there is not. We are here to reduce harm. That does not include leading someone to a ROA that is less safe than the one they are currently using.
