20 tramadol in one day.

I took 20 tramadol in one day kind of spread out and the most I've ever taken was 7. I don't remember much other than I was the highest I'd ever been on tramadol. Actually, I don't really remember anything. Also, I went to bed at like 4am on Wednesday and woke up today at 11am... All I remember is people telling me to not fall asleep... I OD'd, didn't I? Also, is it normal to sleep so long? Also, right now I feel really tired even though I got a lot of sleep... Honestly, I just made this thread to see how stupid taking 20 trams was.
 
Your friends let you sleep for over a day? WTF?

Obviously I'm guessing you didn't know about the 400mg limit on tram. Anything after that and seizures are a possibility(seizure threshold is lowered and induced seizures are possible). I'm not saying if you take 450 then your fucked because I know there are people on here that do go above the limit, but it's just not safe.

Either way this is a learning experience. You fucked up, so try not to do it again. Everyone has there moments though or possibly multiple experiences. I'm just glad you're still with us.
 
I use to take nearly 20 tramadol a day everyday, I never passed out that long, It's very dangerous and I don't recommend it, thats just how high my tolerance had gotten
 
Sounds like a fabulous way to have a grand mal seizure... consider yourself lucky.
 
Actually, Tramadol seizures are very possible with sub-400mg doses. I've used 400+mg with good results.

I'd say 700mg is when you're playing with fire. But seizure likelihood also depends on:

1) Your weight
2) Your tolerance
3) Your enzymatic makeup
4) Other medications you may be using
5) Your gender (females have a higher bioavailability)
6) How spaced out your doses are
7) History of seizures

So in reality the 400mg limit is an acceptable rule of thumb but if you're careful and consider the above variables then higher doses aren't necessarily out of the question. Indeed, doctors occasionally prescribe 400mg+ dosages (after titration).

That was fucking stupid, but I'm sure you know that. I've done it a couple of times, taking 20 at once...
I just ended up with cold sweats, puking my guts out and passing out. EVERY TIME.
Don't do it.
 
1) Yeah, obviously that was not a smart move. Probably didn't OD - just passed out and slept for a really long time because you were exhausted in every way.
-any reason you wanted to take 20 trams? Was it your only option or what? Also, did you KNOW about the risks? Just curious...

2) @Moredopamine - Gender is really an issue? Females have a higher BA? Is this true ?

I know this is an old post but I found it while doing a search for Tramadol. Is it true if you take valerian, st jons wort or benzos you have a better chance at not getting seizures? I am up to 7 at a time for Fibro pain.
