PHILADELPHIA — Twenty first grade students were taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Tuesday after police say a six-year-old student brought eleven packs of heroin into a classroom at Commodore John Barry Elementary School at 59th and Race Streets, reports CBS Philly.

Police say they were called to the scene after a first-grade teacher saw one of her pupils playing with the packets.

Two of the packets had been opened, investigators say, and one had been chewed open.

This happens every so often.
Usually seems to be a parent who is deep into an addiction, and has lost their head, and their d.o.c.
Fucked up.

But why were the kids sent to the hospital?
Maybe because one of them chewed open a bag, so they sent them all to the hospital?

Keep ur drugs away from ur kids, friends.
I - and the courts - have little sympathy for anyone who isn't careful enough to do that

I'd say this. Better safe than sorry (although I imagine they were thinking more about lawsuits and less about funerals).

One of them was selling. Ideal market for dealers because up to like the 4th grade you're allowed to just scream "What's drugs?" and cry your way out of a possible arrest.

I would have loved heroin in 4th grade =D I know that's a messed up thing to say, but I think 9 year old me would have found it the perfect cure for being bored out of his skull - not to mention going home after a long day at school, snorting some H and curling up with a book.

ive bought heroin off a 6 year old before

granted his dad was in the driver's seat, but the kid gave me the bags

sounds fucked up, but unless one of these kids died...

non-story with a shocking headline, like most news

and the people in the comments never know wtf theyre talking about

heroin probably bought that kid's school supplies.
heroin probably bought that kid's lunches
heroin is probably going to put the parents away for a long time because theyre poor and black

but yeah, how could you sell drugs with a child around?

because kids cost a lot of money and its not like these people can just "get a job"

its not that simple. people are retarded

It's like, I can understand why some people use drugs. But I don't feel any sympathy for someone who gets in trouble because they put their child in danger. I can't think of anything more that we should cherish and protect than our children.

some people are shitty drivers yet take their kids places they dont really need to go

statistically speaking, that is far more dangerous for a child than selling heroin

its really not any different than take your kid to work day at Purdue-Pharma if you think about it

I don't understand what you are saying, subotai...
It is easy to imagine that one of the kids could have ingested the heroin and died. Really easy.
Putting your kid and his/her friends in that danger is a major failure as a parent.
I agree with what Ho-chi-minh said above.
