1. Charles Dickens - Opium

When this famous author walked its streets, London was rife with opium dens. He even described them in his final unfinished work, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Dickens, like many other famous names of the Victorian era, was addicted to an opium tincture known as laudanum for many years and used the drug heavily right up to the time of his death (by massive stroke).

2. Morgan Freeman - Marijuana

"Never give up the ganja," said the Academy Award-winning actor in an interview with The Guardian. He also called it God's own weed and talked of the "burning bush."

etc etc.

Unless there is a lot I don't know about Morgan Freeman, Martha Stewart and the dude who played Dracula, I have a hard time understanding how they got put on a list of 20 of history's most brilliant minds. I guess there is no point taking the author seriously since they decided to put a fictional character on their list...

20 Of History's Most Brilliant Minds:

#6. Adolph Hitler

Umm which part, the eugenics or the antisemitism?

^That's a great point.

I once heard someone say that he was "brilliant" on account of his prose in his book. I think his bad parts outweigh whatever "brilliance" he had to offer; can someone say prototypical psychopath? To be fair, anyone receiving generous amounts of bull semen is apt to go ape...jk, it was likely the meth and syphilis rotting his good-for-nothing excuse for a cranium.
