I am female in my thirties and I know I am addicted to cocaine. I snort it and when I use it I use about 2 grams a day. In the last 2 weeks I have bought about 20 grams of cocaine and have one left, I can't believe my system can handle it. I do take Xanax to offset the high heart rate. I have been using for about a year now. I lost alot of my stuff over it, my car, soon a relationship when I told her I thought I needed help about 6 months ago she didn't believe I had a problem. Anyways I'll figure it out. I also use Norco for back and facial pain after using cocaine. I get extremely paranoid, I'll start in the morning and then afternoon comes around and I am going through it so fast because I don't wish to be caught.

Ive been through 3 bottles of Zicam Extreme congestion nasal spray, pseudofederine and I recently went to see my doctor he must think Im such a pos lol. Anyways he gave me an antibiotic to kill the infection. I have never experienced the worst pain than I have felt in my left side of my face about 2 hours after stopping the use of cocaine.

PLEASE help......I only do cocaine for that initial burning rush I hate the speeding heart beat.

Hi there, I've made you your own thread - we encourage everyone to do that in BDD rather than adding to an existing thread so that you can get a personalised response and your question doesn't get lost :)

Snorting cocaine can be damaging - it can lead to a sinus infection, which it sounds like you may have (what did the doctor say? Did you tell them about your cocaine use?) but it can also cause necrosis (tissue death) of the septum and other parts of the nose - it is a vasoconstrictor so it reduces the blood supply, preventing healing. It is really important that you don't take any more cocaine as you are at risk of doing serious damage. You also shouldn't use a decongestant - they work by causing vasoconstriction too so could actually be potentially making any existing damage worse.

If the pain isn't easing I would return to the doctors and be honest with them about your cocaine use so they know what to examine you for.. it really isn't worth taking the risk, and there is a chance this is more than just a sinus infection..

If you would like some help and support with managing your cocaine addiction I recommend checking out The Dark Side forum (link in my signature) - it's a very supportive place and people can give you great advice on how to quit and stay clean.

Good luck <3

Lots of people who snort cocaine complain of nose and face pain. Most doctors think its all in their patients head. Really if it isn't a infection no one really knows.
Sorry I couldn't help

Lets keep this on topic please. If anyone has any advice for the OP (regarding facial pain or cocaine addiction) it would be welcomed, anything else will be removed. Thank you :)

I'd say it would make sense to have face pain because cocaine is such a potent numbing agent. I see two likely scenarios: 1) Your body could adjust to the numbing effect by increasing sensitivity, and when the numbing effect completely wears off, the increased sensitivity gets to you. 2) in a similar vein, the cocaine is numbing the nasal membranes after administration, but the amount of drugs passing through the area have actually damaged the nasal membranes (likely drying them out severely) and the pain you're feeling is the actual pain of your nasal passages being destroyed. I'd say the latter is more likely. I'd definitely get your use in check.

Cold the coke be cut with levamisole(SP?)? I maybe wrong but can't that cause necrosis?

Its not really clear of you are still suffering the pain or are posting due to your concern over your cocaine use. If you still have pain then, like Effie said go back to the Doctors and tell him the whole truth, he'll have heard it all before and will get you the correct treatment.

I've been a coke user in the past but more of a binger .....OK every weekend all weekend :! but just seemed to move onto other things for one reason or another.

I understand that using a nasal sprayer is a much better way to get the coke up there and causes less damage, just get a decongestant nasal spray (you probably already have one) and make a solution of coke and (preferably) sterile water and use that instead of snorting the powder.

That feeling of total paranoia and the strange thinking of" just another line and I'll be just fine" seems to be a feature of the drug for many people, I don't think any other stim has made me so twitchy.

It does sound like you need to start working on getting off the stuff but it also sounds like you need some real help and support, is there a local drug service available to you ? a sit and an honest conversation with someone who is non-judgmental is very valuable as is meeting others who are or have been through similar problems.

Best Wishes

Hey dappo, thanks for your input, but this thread is over 3 months old and this was the OPs only post, so I doubt that they are monitoring the thread. If you are having issues or need any questions answered, feel free to make a new thread.
