Hi there, brand new to this site so I was hoping you could put my thread in the right place for me, thanks.

I've been interested in 2m2b for a while now and as far as I was aware 2M2B is not a controlled substance in Australia. I looked into the importation laws regarding 2M2B and there was nothing on it; I decided to contact Australian Customs for verification.. this is the reply I received:

"Thank you for contacting the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service.

'2-Methyl-2-butanol' is a controlled the crimes act as it is an analogue substance of Methamphetamine."

What?.. I don't know very much about drug chemistry and I know even less about importation laws but this seemed a bit odd, does anybody know if there's truth behind that? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Also I checked this http://www.health.gov.au/internet/ma...-precursor.htm and found nothing on 2M2B.

Thanks.

2-Methyl-2-Butanol is NOT an analogue of Methamphetamine; 2M2B is an Alcohol that is roughly 40x more potent than Ethanol by weight.
As for the legality... I'm not sure if discussion of legality is allowed?
Please use the search button next time though, 2M2B has been discussed on BL before..

Could they have mistaken it for P2P (phenyl-2-propanone)?
That's pretty far off, so I dunno...
