2-AEP (2-aminoethanol phosphate, aka Calcium AEP, colamine phosphate) is an essential factor for maintaining the integrity of the cellular membranes of neurons. When the salts of 2-AEP are introduced into the bloodstream they are directed to the cell membrane and integrated into the cell membrane predominantly at the entry spots of the so-called "free lipid pore." It binds fatty acids preceding and following the peptide chains of the cell membrane structure.

Studies conducted over the last 30 years have shown that 2-AEP has important actions that maintain cell membrane integrity and protect cells from degeneration. 2-AEP performs the following actions:

· Facilitates transport of electrolytes and essential nutrients into cells.

· Shields and "seals" cell membranes from harmful agents.

· Maintains neurotransmission, necessary for the electrochemical communication between cells.

· Binds calcium and other minerals to cell membranes to serve as "electrical condensers"; essential for cellular regulation.

· Maintains the bioenergetic cell potential and helps maintain cell receptor sensitivity. .

In medical clinics worldwide, 2-AEP has been effective in the treatment of various neurodegenerative disorders. This list includes multiple sclerosis (MS) and other sclerotic disorders including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and progressive systemic sclerosis (155-162).

2-AEP’s regulation of the transmembrane ion exchange, increasing neuronal conductivity, increasing neurotransmissions and preventing cytotoxic destruction of the lipid layer of the membranes of neurons makes 2-AEP a useful neuroprotective supplement for the user of MDMA. 2-AEP may prove useful at repairing the impaired serotonergic neurotransmissions and increasing the diminished sensitivity of serotonin receptors.

i couldnt find any other threads on it here, so i thought this would be an interesting read
what is peoples thoughts on 2AEP supplementation

Two-aminoethanol is closely related, chemically, to the important and ubiquitous (mainly peripheral) neurotransmitter N-acetylcholine, but that excerpt sounds like an advertisement for a health food store supplement to me.

I'm not saying it's false, though.

it is about time that the MCA and the FDA and other regulators came down on the supplement suppliers making pseudoscientific bullshit medicinal claims. If they make medicinal claims then it is a medicine, and a medicine should have evidence to show safety and efficiency.

total bullshit.

apparently is also aligns chakras and ley lines, and fortifies tachyon fields.

its a source of reasonably available calcium and phosphate, some of the ethanolamine might possibly be incorporated into neuronal membranes, most of it is going to be chewed up by the liver long before then, the brain is not short of ethanolamine phosphate, as it is produced by normal phospholipid metabolism.

A quick search revealed that the source of most of these claims is a quack doctor by the name of Hans Nieper.

the evidence backing supplement is pretty worthless.

somewhat, but this isn't that.

yes it is you fucking moron, why do you post so much fucking nonsense?

2-aminoethanol = ethanolamine.

idiots. Why do I bother.

that is the first time i think i have ever seen that ROFL 8o =D =D

but i will surely admit it shows consistency of principle...most would have used the edit feature I'd think to hope to slither out of the erroneous comment,....

PROPS!

%)

hah... I think that might be something you want to edit out some day :) Being a hypocrite in a public forum where every record is saved for years and years, and god-only-knows how long thanks to Google, doesn't get anyone anywhere. The truth is the truth, is the truth. Covering it up wouldn't change anything.

and that's the segue to: why on earth hasn't the FDA started cracking down on these things? They could hire one guy to patrol the web for claims that these vendors are making, and have thousands of violations & citations (and the fines they make from issuing those citations) in the first month.

Hell, I'd take that job. The industry has done great things, but when they start doing things like this, it's something that really needs to be stopped.
