2,5-DiMeO-4-azo-amphetamine

Has anyone any reference to the potency of the azido analogue of DM-x, I imagine the azide group acting as a pseudohalogen will make it somewhat active.

If there is any activity, I may get get the chance to try this.

Aromatic compounds with an azide group aren't the most stable of compounds from what I remember (they decompose pretty quickly). There are a lot more, better suited pseudohalogens to the N3- group (CN, SCN, CF3 etc)

On what sort of a timescale would you reckon it will last?

How would you expect it to decompose, by breakdown of the azide group entirely to give my 2,5-DMA back, or freeing of two of the nitrogens, leaving one in the 4- position? I wouldn't be happy handling the solid, but I was thinking as the freebase dissolved in ethanol, for a couple of bioassays, talking maybe 50mg or so total compound.

Just to satisfy my curiosity more than anything.

Off topic, but F&B, I am still going to attempt that 4-fluorotropacocaine, I would have done it sooner, but I am getting snowed under money wise (jobseekers allowance blows goats)

Not a clue on timescale - I'm just dredging stuff up from memory about organic azides (I may be wrong - best to check).

You'll have to post a trip report about the 4-fluoro analogue of tropacocaine when you've tried it (it'd be wasted on me as I avoid coke - it turns me into the worst sort of arsehole, hence the reason for avoiding it)

The azide will be stable enough to synthesize and taste I'm pretty sure,BUT I'm equally sure it will be toxic (drop in BP,headache,blood toxicity...).I've worked with several azides in the past and had to be VERY careful not to get into contact.Explosiveness is often just a sidehow.

I'd rather taste the mustard DO's...

Yeah, my only experience with azides (admittedly VERY limited) is that they go boom. Does this apply to this discusion? Probably not.
