I've been trying to get myself ready to inject myself, but when I think about it I think its so weird and can't get over sticking a needle into myself. I have more of a fear of needles than your normal person and would like some help. Others out there like me, could you give me some tips in just getting your mind to do it? I am doing IM injections. I want to try my arm. This is for ketamine. Thank you.
P.S. To the IM ketamine users, after IMing ketamine did you ever go back to useing it by snorting? For those who have expierenced both types of kholes, could you tell the diff. from IV and snorting holes?

Man, I could understand you being afraid to IV something. Only because it takes a little more accuracy perhaps, and if you don't hit your vein you have to "fish around" and all. I don't have any direct experience IM-ing K, but I've IM-ed some heroin on a few occasions (only when I couldn't hit my vein for the life of me and got frustrated). Anyways, I don't have any tips for getting over the fear, but as far as IM-ing something goes. I try to find the center most portion of the muscle. And when I do happen to IM something I do it in my leg (my thigh actually)...just kinda feel the muscle and where the center of it is, just push the needle in. Sorry for the lack of a better explanation, I'm drawing a blank as I don't see it as a very difficult procedure, but I'm gonna look for some links for you and edit my post...
Here check this one out and see if it's of any help. I learned a lot from it when I first started, but I can't remember how much IM info it has...I'm gonna keep looking and edit again later...

I've IMed ketamine many times now, and I agree it can be nerve-racking (even if you are experienced, like myself).
First of all, I'd try the thigh if I were you. I feel like you can get a better view of what you are doing, and also that it's easier to keep your leg still.
I remind myself that it's pretty easy to IM (as long as you are decently intelligent and have decent coordination and motor control), and so even if I don't do it perfectly, I probably won't harm myself.
The worst that can really happen (if you are making sure to stick to large muscles like the top of the thigh, and you aren't wiggling the needle around once it's in your leg) is that you might:
a)hit a rather painful spot (some areas are just closer to nerves)
b)apply a bit too much pressure, making the injection more painful
c)inject too quickly, making the skin bubble up a bit (not usually dangerous), and making the injection more painful
None of those are really likely to result in injurty, so if you are being careful, there is no reason for you to be so anxious about it all -- and you should remind yourself of this.
Pain is normal, because the muscle doesn't like having a foreign substance squirted into it. But you shouldn't worry; the pain is not indicative of anything going wrong and is entirely to be expected.
Tips on injecting:
*Make sure the muscle you are injecting into is COMPLETELY RELAXED and soft/unflexed.
*Clean the injection site before and after with rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol.
*Inject at a slight, say 60 degree angle (don't inject straight into your leg perpendicularly).
*Insert the needle SLOWLY.
*Keep the needle VERY STILL once it's in - but make sure you aren't applying too much pressure to keep the needle still, as I mentioned above.
*Inject the k SLOWLY. You should inject 1 cc over about 20-30 sec, for optimal results.
Good luck and be safe!

EVERYONE I know who has IM'ed ketamine (and IM is better than Iv, most agree) NEVER goes back to snorting it.
IMing ketamine is INFINITELY better than snorting it. It is just so so so much better. I think it is a terrible waste of k to snort it. I can't emphasize this point enough!

^^
Guess I've been missing out on something. thanks for the info. But, one questions does the spot become sore the next day? I know I've gotten this from shots from the doctor and its terrible.

^^^
Everytime I've IM-ed something the area has been sore the next day, sometimes worse than others. On the harsher days it feels like someone gave you a charlie horse in the leg the whole day, but usually it's not that bad, in fact for me it's usually only noticable if i touch that area.

If the injection is done well, it will only be very slightly sore the next day. My injection sites are rarely noticeably sore -- usually I can't even find the spot I shot into.
Another thing you can do to make sure that the site isn't sore the next day: massage/rub the injection area in a circular motion afterwards. This HURTS LIKE A BITCH at the time...but if you do this (do it gently, yet semi firmly) for a minute or so, you won't get a bump and you shouldn't be sore the next day.

Why the hell would you want to IM something instead of IV it?
IMing hurts. A lot. And you end up with this nasty bruise. Oh yeah, and it hurts.
If you IV, it doesn't hurt. It shouldn't leave a mark. And most importantly, it won't hurt.
I think the smart choice is obvious.

Dont IV K, you'll be out cold before the needle is out. When you IM you have time to clean up and get comfy.

Shows alot of injection sites/techniques..
Stick to thigh, glute or shoulder. have fun.

For street drugs like heroin, coke, and opiates in general, it makes much more sense to IV.
For ketamine, IMing is THE WAY TO GO. If you IV, you might not have time to get the needle out, and the trip will be over way too fast, as the person above stated. IM ketamine is a much more enjoyable way to go.
Furthermore, it is a lot easier to IM than it is to IV, and there is a lot more to fuck up once you start going near veins.
It sounds to me like you've had inexperienced IM injections -- I've NEVER left a bruise on anyone I've IMed ketamine into.
Furthermore, IVing CAN and DOES leave bruises if the drug is dirty, if you use a small vein, or if you fuck up and punch through the vein. There is a lot more potential for damage and bruising with IVing.
Plenty of reasons to IM ketamine!
