Since the bioavailibility of Opana is 10% oral, and snorted it is 40%, then 1mg of snorted opana is equvalent to 4mg of oral opana. Since oral opana is twice the strength of oral oxycodone, 4mg of oral opana is equivalent to 8mg oxycodone.
1mg of snorted Oxymorphone = 8mg of oral Oxycodone.

This means that I should have, without question, died last night. I snorted 67.5mg Opana, = 560mg oral Oxycodone. I am a very infrequent user.

Please tell me I'm insane or reading numbers wrong!! This is correct, isn't it?!

A lot of people have trouble with the conversion charts between oxycodone and oxymorphone. As far as the high is concerned most people find intranasal oxymorphone to be over 2x the strength of oxycodone. The thing that a lot of people don't take into account is that these conversion charts are for the analgesic effects of the drugs, which doesn't really correlate with euphoric effects. So while a doctor may prescribe 10mg of Opana to someone that is switching from 80mg of oxycodone, that doesn't mean that the highs would be the same.

The half-life of oxymorphone is about twice that of oxycodone, so that's yet another reason why the equivalent dose of oxymorphone is a lot lower than oxycodone, since a person would need to dose oxycodone a lot more often than the oxymorphone, or take a higher dose so that it will take longer for it to be eliminated.

Things like this are overlooked by people using the comparison charts, and is why they are just a guideline to use when trying to figure out what dose to take of a drug when trying to take the equivalent dose of a different opioid that you are familiar with. Analgesic doses are not the same as euphoric doses.

From my own personal experience of doing retarded amounts of opanas and roxis over the years I personally say:

1mg Oxymorphone = 3-4mg of oxycodone

Meaning 40mg opana = 120-160mg oxycodone

Just my own opinion on the matter. Nothing scientific just from my own estimations.

Although, and this is where it gets a bit confusing: even if i were do to lets say 160mg oxy...it still wouldn't be as 'strong' because the opana high knocks me on my ass more, and lasts a LOT LONGER! does that make any sense?

Well I have snorted the opana 5mg ir's many times, highest ammnt ever was only 2 of them, with essentially no tolerance ( I could get high on 20-25mg hydrocodone, 10-15mg oxycodone) and it always floored me. I have done up to 45mg oxycodone ir with a similar tolerace and I would say it's about equal with one 5mg ir opana tbh. So ur 1mg is 8mg estimate would turn out to be 1mg is 9mg equivalent in my case. But everyone is different, as are the drugs and their respective highs. So it's like comparing apples and oranges?
