Ex-Bluelighter
We both know we will never see each other again
I haven't attempted to ask your last name
Your sensible insights were matched by low brow
But you slide in closer and whisper " that's so hot right now"
Our eyes drink together and our minds seem to click
I sit nodding knowingly as you babble more shit
We part oh so briefly to get some sort of clue
People to talk to, odd things to do
But the beam is strong holding together our Ka-tet
Cosmic forces deciding just how we should have met
I rush back quickly searching for your face
Your face flushing strongly as we melt in an embrace
Searching for warmth we float above the crowded club
Flowing and laughing to sounds of good dub
The taste of watermelon lingers on your lips
You cry quietly as your neck snakes my finger tips
As the sun slowly rises to fill the morning sky
It dawns on us suddenly that we soon must bid goodbye
I float to the exit and your eyes shine through the light
I know that you realise you will haunt my dreams tonight
sadness dilutes these good memories, never repeated again
I never attempted to ask your last name
Appologies for the old school rythym and rhyme but I plyed with this as I floated home on the ferry. Im embarressed that my first post after lurking for so long is what i would consider "bubblegum". But hey I'm still floating from last night.
PS if you happen to read this you know how to find me
