Hi,

I ended up eating 16mg clonazepam, that is, 8x 2mg rivotril pills. I know for a fact the pills were the real deal. I've been taking benzos for a long time, but let's start here: for several months I've been eating 0.5mg triazolam every other day. In weekends (saturday and sunday) I didn't eat any, that was the routine for many months, perhaps six. Lately though, I've been taking a lot more benzos, but not so many that I would consider myself at risk of physical addiction. In this thread I'd like if we could not look at the psychological aspects of the case.

I few days ago, however, I ate 16mg clonazepam without being knocked out. I may have felt slightly sedated, but that might have been general tiredness or placebo. Anyway, I know clonazepam is all but a hypnotic. It's an anxiolytic and an anticonvulsant. Could that be why I didn't feel high/stoned/sedated from such a huge dose? Or is it tolerance?

I can also eat 40mg diazepam and 6mg flunitrazepam (these were on two different occasions) without feeling anything -- and flunitrazepam is a hypnotic, mind you.
Though, I can definitely feel 100mg diazepam. Not strongly, but I do feel relaxed from that dose.

Well that is an extremely high dose of clonazepam; an equivalent dose of any benzo would knock just about anybody out. It seems that using benzos as a primary recreational drug creates huge tolerances like that in most people. If you are spacing it out enough to avoid withdrawal that is probably going to save you a lot of pain but your tolerance does indeed some very high and may be something to keep in check.

try taking less. benzos aren't recreational IMO. save them for days you feel anxious.

You probably have a huge natural tolerance plus you're probably drastically underestimating how impaired you are. Benzos are notorious for convincing people they are totally fine while in reality they are SUBSTANTIALLY cognitively impaired but simply don't realize it.

All we can do here is speculate and I don't see any harm reduction value in discussing it. If you think I'm missing something, please feel free to PM me and let me know what harm reduction value there is here and what types of discussion you're looking to generate that isn't speculative.
