dissolve it into some water and measure it with a syringe
how do you measure .2 mg of sub ? i cant tell difference between 2 mg and 1.8 mg!!!!!!!!
If you use 32ml for 1 - 8mg sub you can measure .25mg per 1ml water. If you use .5ml water you can get .125mg, and so on.
Just get an eye/ear dropper with ml marks on it. Most petstores carry something that measures ml accurately and its so easy to do. I'd make up solutions however out of 1 pill at a time because if you store it for too long in liquid solution things tend to become unstable and break down with no preservatives. I'd imagine subs have some sort of water soluble preservative in the pills already as a filler, but in liquid solution it loses its strength. So as long as you make up 1 pill at a time and store the liquid you should be fine. Just make up fresh solution anytime you go through 8mg.
Do you have the 8mg or 2mg pills?
It's really difficult with the 8mg pills. With the 2mg pills it's a lot easier to split into quarters which are .5mg each. After that it's a matter of eye-balling it.
I suppose if you have the 8mg pills, you could try splitting it evenly and then breaking it into small piles from there or just trying to break up equal size piles. If you could get 1mg piles, then you could try breaking one of those up into piles of 5 to get .2mg.
It's much, much easier with the 2mg pills.
Wouldn't that gel up or lose potency after a day? It seems like it'd be hard to find the dose without wasting some suboxone.
How would you store the liquid so it doesn't lose strength?
as long as you store it in a sealed container in the fridge it wont lose any type of significant potency
And then you spray the solution under your tongue?
That's what I meant by spray since you had said syringe. I figured if I said shoot or something, you'd think I meant sticking it into something in your mouth. By your post I'm taking it that you'd move the liquid from the syringe to an eye-dropper? Still seems like it would be hard to dose since I imagine it would be awkward to look at the solution as you're dropping it under your tongue.
I think it seems a lot easier to just get 2mg pills then doing all that syringe business, but I guess some people can't get them.
I wonder if it might be a good idea to dissolve subs in alcohol. Do you guys think that it could aid in the sublingual absorption?
Oh no if you HAVE syringes on hand thats by far the best way to measure. The syringes my dad uses for insulin are perfect as they measure in much finer increments than any droppers you'd get from a health store. Or even if you shoot dope those syringes will work perfect too.
Its honestly no easier or harder with the 2mg imho. The water is essentially doing all the work, all you need to do is standardize it to the potency you need. A 2mg pill will simply require less water than an 8mg, but than you'll be doing a lot more mixing (as you'll be going through that smaller amount faster) so I don't see either way as being better.
And as far as looking at the solution you don't. You pull up exactly what you need into the syringe and eject the ENTIRE amount into your mouth. Its only required to look at the syringe when you're pulling the sub solution into it, after that you just put it in your mouth and spray it. If you can get the 2mg then likewise you can even just break the pills, but to taper off sub successfully you need to get to really low doses, and I still like the idea of diluting with water. Whatever you like best I guess just go with that.

i gotta find a way to taper Subs without all that syringe stuff.............
