Hello! I'm a 15 year old boy from the United States. I've registered with this website mainly for the purpose of seeking useful information regarding harm reduction when using drugs. I've really only been smoking cannabis for half a year, which I do every two weeks or so (very moderate use). Other than that, I have done .25mg of benzos (Xanax). I have drunk alcohol twice in my life, and have never gotten drunk. My aim is to stay away from alcohol as a whole knowing that is has highly neurotoxic effects on developing brains. Anyway, long story short I'm a hypochondriac who still likes drugs (I know, weird right?). Cheers guys!

Hi and welcome :)

I'm totally with you with avoiding the alcohol, you're still young and as you pointed out alcohol really isn't the best drug to take while your body/brain etc. is still developing.
I mean of course the best would be to not use any drug at all but that could be boring.

As I said you're still developing so go SLOW and SAFE, you will regret it in the future if you do too much too soon.
For example it's good that you're using cannabis only every two weeks, try and keep it that way or atleast not daily. Once or twice a week should be fine.
Keep in mind that despite all the talk about cannabis being "harmless" and "not addictive" many people DO develope a daily habit and some of those people end up getting anxiety/paranoia (pretty severe for some people) whenever they smoke pot.
There are many people who can trip on acid/mushrooms or a myriad of other substances just fine and yet can't handle a couple of puffs from a joint.
If you visit the Cannabis Discussion section often I'm sure you've heard of such situations, or maybe it even happened to someone you know.

So yeah all I want to say is go easy while you're still young, there still is plenty of time to experiment.
Smoke pot but don't make it a daily habit so you can enjoy it for many years to come and try to stay away from "harder" drug (I despise the term "hard drugs" but whatever) like alcohol, coke, meth... and ESPECIALLY opioids.
Trust me don't fuck with opioids, at least while you're still so young. Many people will tell you that for a good reason.

In my opinion you also shouldn't mess with benzodiazepines, they've never been a problem for me and I've been taking them for many years (usually to smoothen the comedown of a stimulant high or to potentiate other downers, which by the way can be really dangerous if you don't know what you're doing so be very careful with such combinations, or try to avoid them altogheter.) but they can be mentally addictive especially if you have anxiety problems and if you take them frequently enough you will get physically addicted to them, an addiction which can be fatal (you can die during intense benzodiazepine withdrawals), and even if you don't die many people will tell you that they're hellish, even worse than opioid withdrawals.
I've never found benzodiazepines by themselves to be much fun anyway, so it's just not worth it at all in my opinion.

Also be careful if you decide to take psychedelic drugs, read a lot before even deciding what to take (this applies to every drug of course).
They are very powerful substances and should be treated with care.

Well wow, sorry for rambling but I'm high on some 3-MMC lol, feel free to send me a private message if you need help, good luck with your exploration and stay safe!

Haha don't worry about it man, you gave me very helpful advice. I agree with you about benzos; I have mild anxiety and IT definitely did help, but I know for a fact that it is not a permanent solution. Anxiety is an issue I have to resolve on my own through meditation. Also, those withdrawals you mentioned sound terrifying. I'll make sure to keep my smoking sessions to once a week maximum. Thanks for the valuable insight! :)

Ok so Being very careful not to patronise, I never experienced any type of drug at all until I was 21 and despite do them regularly since for around 15 years, have never really had too many problems with them. The people that I know who experimented with them younger (around 15...) did not go on to achieve their full potential academically or professionally ie) it affected their progress. A few of them developed serious mental health issues including schizophrenia which may or may not have been caused by taking drugs at a young age.

It's interesting that you say that you don't want to use alcohol because you're worried about the effects but are happy to use drugs. It's also very interesting that you say you're a hypocondriac. These statements to me do not seem to be compatible with a positive drug experience. My advice would be to put off trying drugs until you're older and feel more in control of your emotions. You have many years ahead of you to dabble in these things, there's no rush.

When you do try them my advice is to be with close friends. Look to achieve a pleasant positive amplification of your enjoyment of whatever it is you are doing ie) a deep conversation, listening to music, dancing in a nightclub. Do not take them alone, do not take them in order to get wasted. Do not take them because you feel down and want to feel better.

Yeah my advice would to keep smoke but at a moderate use and probably stay away from using anything routinely as your brain is still developing. I stayed away most drugs until I was 19. But shit happens. Although it is great to join a forum like this That has been up forever so you can get info from experience and smart people like the users on here that way you don't come across the websites that try to convince you everything will kill you even weed. People aren't taught properly in America about drugs and it's a shame. It could save a lot of lives.
